Had a sudden need to book a one night stay at Seattle due to flight delay on July 6th 2024 causing me to arrive so late. I was suppose to drive from Seattle to Pasco where I had a booking at holiday inn but due to the late arrival time my booking agent had to book me into a hotel in Seattle for the night so I could travel to my final destination the next morning. I must state that i was offered several other options for stay in Seattle based on the proximity to the airport but I had to insist on holiday inn because of the excellent experience I had just recently about few days ago when i spent 9 nights at the holiday Inn at Moses lake.
When I arrived at the hotel in Seattle, I found the front entrance required a key card to get in so I pressed the call button. This is where it all started with the negative experience. The lady at the front desk that night opened the door and when I got to the desk her countenance was as if I was in at a wrong time- to be honest it didn't feel like i was welcome. I brushed it off and thought It could just be due to my very late arrival and staff may have had a long day. first thing staff asked was if I had a reservation- no greetings or welcome. I proceeded to providing my card and booking details and during the entire time staff didn't welcome me or smile at me once- I informed staff that I had an IHG account and if she required my email to send me my receipt as I would be checking out early next morning and needed my receipt urgently. Staff stated she didn't require my email and went on giving me my keys- As i left i was lost and returned to ask for the location of the elevator which I missed and the manner at which I was pointed in the direction was not nice- I got to my room on the 3rd floor only to find out my key card was not working- i tiredly had to return down and notify staff who honestly apologized but with a straight and disinterested face and went ahead to activate my key.
The next morning as I checked out I met with another staff and informed that I would require my receipt and again the reception was just not what I had experienced a week ago from same hotel in Moses Lake-. The staff informed me they don't require my email and i would get it in my account. Today, the 8th july, I had to call in to request for my receipt before it was sent to me- I wasn't very happy on the call and let staff know I would send a review after the call. I am currently at the Holiday inn at Pasco and the experience has been nothing short of exceptional from the moment i stepped in (similar to the experience at moses lake)- I really couldn't place the reason for the cold reception I received at the Holiday inn at Seattle- I Love Holiday Inn would always book in at any other destination but If I am ever in seattle I would not patronize that location. i have been very honest on this review regarding the room cleanliness and quality of sleep/ comfort which was really great but really had to call out the very unreceptive...
Read moreLast month, upon returning from a long vacation in Europe, we chose to stay at The Holiday Inn Express near Sea-Tac airport during a two-night layover before completing lunchthe last leg of our flight home. Our selection was based on an overwhelming number of positive reviews by former guests, more than any other hotel in the area. Our experience not only validated these high ratings, but has proven how much this hotel deserves the highest rank in the hospitality industry. When I initially booked our room, I had forgotten to account for the extra calendar day gained when returning from Europe to the USA. I only realized my mistake after we had landed, and was relieved to find that we were able to add a second night to our booking while waiting for the hotel’s complimentary shuttle. Its driver helped us load our luggage, suggested a popular restaurant upon request, and offered to take us there anytime after checking in. Turns out the hotel also offers free shuttle service to any address within a mile of it! (We had a delicious dinner at Sharps Roasthouse the next night using shuttle transportation.) While checking in, the receptionist said that although two consecutive reservations had been made by us, she had already assigned us a room that we could keep for two nights instead of having to check out of one room and into another the next day. It seems that the hotel was very full, but the front desk was able to shuffle assignments before we arrived, to prevent any inconvenience. I was impressed by the efficiency between corporate headquarters where I booked the changes, and its local establishment. The room itself was a haven. Large, plush beds, multiple light sources providing more than ample light, a long built-in luggage bench, clean surfaces every-where (esp. in the bathroom), and generous pump bottles of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. More surprises in the morning. The breakfast buffet had everything you could want. Pastries, muffins, toast, eggs, hash browns, sausage links and patties, yogurt, cereals, fresh fruits, juices, pancakes or waffles, and oatmeal. Milk, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. There were even paper plates and plastic utensils for take-out. A workout room is available on the mezzanine. And a tiny convenience “store” offering snacks, ice cream,TV Dinners, cold sodas, travel necessities, and souvenir trinkets adjoined the front desk. (Microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee makers are provided in each room.) Being a bit of a skeptic, I can now wholeheartedly say that this gem of a hotel is truly an outstanding choice for travelers, offering numerous amenities, first-class service, and unbeatable value compared to...
Read moreI attempted to stay at the Seattle SeaTac Hilton Inn on October 2024, when I flew in to watch the Washington Huskies play the USC Trojans. My daughter is in the marching band, so I chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport since I was arriving very early and departing early four days later. I expected a simple check-in and check-out with the convenience of an airport shuttle. That expectation was completely shattered by the appalling service I received. When I arrived at around 5 AM, I was greeted by a front desk employee whose rude and condescending attitude set the tone for the entire miserable stay. This person informed me that I should have booked my room for the day before, even though my reservation clearly showed my arrival for that same day and I had specifically arranged an early check-in. Instead of any attempt to accommodate or explain politely, I was met with dismissive arrogance and zero flexibility. There was no offer of a reduced rate, no reasonable explanation, just an absurd insistence that I should have paid for an extra night despite arriving exactly as scheduled.
Against my better judgment, I rebooked the room on my phone just to avoid sleeping in the airport. When I returned to check in, the same rude front desk agent told me the room I booked was too small for the number of people I was traveling with which made no sense because I was alone. She then wrongly assumed I was part of another family standing behind me. She actually argued with me about this in front of strangers, insisting I was connected to people I had never seen before. It was humiliating to stand there and have to ask complete strangers, “Do I know you?” while they looked as confused and annoyed as I was.
The attitude from this employee, who had short hair and the worst demeanor I have ever encountered in the hospitality industry, was absolutely disgraceful. The experience was so upsetting that when the manager called me over a week later, the apology felt forced and meaningless. I am still furious about how I was treated. I travel frequently and had considered this hotel chain for future business conferences in Seattle. After this nightmare, I would never subject my staff, my clients, or even my worst enemy to the Seattle SeaTac Holiday Inn. The service is incompetent, the staff are unprofessional, and the entire experience was a complete disaster.
Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else. This place deserves every word of this...
