2120 we will be back! What a fantastic dining experience!
Nestled beside the iconic Amazon Spheres in downtown Seattle, 2120 is a beacon of New American cuisine that effortlessly blends sophistication with warmth. My recent visit to this gem was nothing short of spectacular, leaving me eager to sing its praises. From the moment I arrived, the ambiance struck a perfect chord. The sleek, modern interior, accented with warm wood tones and soft lighting, felt both upscale and inviting. The heated patio, offering glimpses of the bustling city and those distinctive Spheres, was tempting, but we were in gor a private party. The atmosphere buzzed with a mix of professionals unwinding and friends celebrating, all underscored by a playlist that was just the right volume for conversation. The service was a masterclass in hospitality. Our server, Amanda, was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. She guided us through the seasonal offerings with enthusiasm, recommending dishes and wine pairings that elevated the experience. Her suggestion of a crisp Pacific Northwest Sauvignon Blanc was a flawless match for our starters. The small plates set a high bar, and the mains didn't disappoint. My sister in law chose the duck breast with pastrami spice rub, served with sweet potato puree and creamed mushrooms. The duck was cooked to perfection, juicy with a crisp, flavorful crust, and the earthy, rich accompaniments made every bite a delight. My husbands king salmon, paired with apple-brandy butter and charred onion, was vibrant and impeccably fresh, a nod to Seattle's proximity to pristine waters. The cocktail menu deserves its own applause. The 2120 Spritz, with citrus-infused vodka, sage syrup, and a splash of sparkling wine, was as beautiful as it was refreshing, arriving with a delicate butterfly pea flower garnish. It was the kind of drink you snap a photo of before sipping. Dessert was the grand finale: house-made doughnuts dusted with cinnamon sugar, served with dulce de leche and a decadent chocolate mousse. They were warm, fluffy, and indulgent, the perfect sweet note to end the meal. Paired with a robust espresso, it was pure bliss. What sets 2120 apart is its commitment to local, sustainable ingredients, evident in every dish. The menu evolves with the seasons, showcasing the Pacific Northwest's bounty, from fresh seafood to farm-fresh produce. Add to that the thoughtful wine list, heavily featuring regional gems, and you have a dining experience that feels deeply rooted in its place. This wasn't just a meal--it was a celebration of flavor, craft, and community. 2120 delivers on every front: exceptional food, stellar service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger. Whether you're a Seattleite or just passing through, this restaurant is a must-visit. Five stars, and I'm already dreaming of my next reservation. We were even checked in on by the...
Read moreI was only in town at the restaurant for a presentation in a separate room. The reason I gave only two stars for atmosphere was because I could still hear the main dining room through the closed doors. And when serving the entree, they left the doors open and I couldn't hear a thing. But our room set up was beautiful, relaxing, and more than accommodating. Only other problem there was their internet being down, but we can't always control that as we'd like. Luckily, the presentation host did have a wifi hotspot we could use.
The service and food were spectacular and more than made up for any other issues! The server was right there when we needed him. He seemed to sense the best time to show and ask if each late arrival would like something other than the water on the table. He was unobtrusive, friendly and personable, clearing after each course effortlessly and always bringing new silverware. We couldn't have asked for better service.
The food was excellent as well. I tried salmon for the first time, choosing their Wild Caught King Salmon as my entree. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. Not sure what I was expecting but they made me wish to have it again! Sides of broccoli and mac & cheese were served family style. Each equally delicious. I can't tell you what they used exactly, but the broccoli was seasoned/sauced nicely and very lightly. They used spiral noodles for the mac with a tasty sauce and light crunchy topping. I actually really liked their noodle choice because with the light sauce, it made them very easy to grab onto. Unfortunately though, I do not have more details as we didn't order off the menu itself. Dessert was house-made donuts. More like donut holes, served two at a time with a yummy dollop of chocolate mouse and sauce dots of delicious dulce de leche. Donuts were hot, perfect combo & amount of cinnamon & sugar. I only had water but my colleagues enjoyed their various drinks and especially the cappuccino!
Should I get the chance to return to Seattle, this is definitely a place I would like to visit again for such memorable...
Read moreI visited the restaurant for a mid-week dinner. I had made a reservation a few weeks in advance and arrived slightly late due to traffic. Thankfully, they accommodated us, but requested that we finish by a specific time, which was fine as we had enough time. A nice touch was the free parking available in the same building after 4 pm.
The restaurant was quite busy, and it took a while before someone noticed us and took our reservation. However, once we were attended to, the service was smooth. The closely spaced tables contributed to noticeable noise levels, but it wasn't unbearable.
We started with some small dishes, which arrived quickly. However, our main courses took a bit longer. We ordered six items, but only one stood out for me, and I would consider ordering it again: the calamari.
The green salad was good but rather simple, consisting of greens, strawberries, and crumbled cheese with a tasty vinaigrette. It was enjoyable but not quite at the level I expected.
The calamari was very good, with the highlight being the yogurt sauce (though it was labeled as labneh, it wasn't as sour as traditional Mediterranean labneh). The warm spices added a nice touch.
The pork belly roulette was disappointing and felt like a calorie waste.
I had high hopes for the steak tartar, but it turned out to be overly sour, with the sourness overshadowing the gentle sweetness of the yolk. The textures of the meat and the popping mustard seeds were interesting, but the sourness was too much for my taste.
My husband ordered the rack of lamb, which tasted very good but was rather small for its $62 price tag, consisting of only two chops and some veggies.
The cream puff had a moderate sweetness level, which was appreciated. However, I found the cream both inside and outside to be overly fatty, with just a hint of fruit filling in the middle. I would have preferred a better balance with less cream and more filling.
Despite the restaurant's great reviews, I don't plan...
