This is a beautiful bar that looks like it has potential and is probably a lovely place to visit for a romantic cocktail with your better half if you book ahead. I went there twice this week, once on my own to check it out and the second time with a group - I will not go back because I did not feel welcome during either visit and in the second visit we just left after being seated. I was not dressed up but was not badly dressed but I felt like a second rate citizen after I arrived on both occasions because of the snobby attitude of the host and bar tenders. On the first occasion, even though the bar was quite empty they placed me at a small table with no seat where I stood in one of the walkways leading to the bar. They took a while to get my drink and I felt a bit awkward. When another couple left the bar they thanked me because I think they they thought I was one of the wait staff just standing there in this weird place by myself. Really horrible experience. A couple of days later (last night) a group of us had just finished a work dinner and wanted to find a place for one more cocktail to top off the night. I did not want to go back to this bar but someone else suggested it and it was convenient so we went. They were very rude, did not seem to want us there. The host had a negative conversation with the bartender about us (I overheard some of it) and then the manager came over and from then on I felt very unwelcome. We were not a bad group but the treatment we got was really awful. :( I do not recommend this place unless you book a table and are out for a romantic cocktail or a small group of 3 or 4. If you go, realize that you are there by their grace and that they are doing you a favor allowing you to be there. I will not visit the place again but because of the location and beautiful decor I doubt my opinion will matter - that pretty much sums it up....
Read moreI have been a regular to Deep Dive. However, my experience today was totally disappointing as THE HOST TREATED US MEAN AND UNFAIR. We went around 8:30pm on 4/15 but the host told us that 1) they just gave out the last seat, 2) itâs gonna be a 30 min wait for 3 ppl, then 3) we asked if we can sit in the space to the left of entrance, but the host said that spot is reserved for a bigger party. So we put down our name and waited. After a couple of minutes we saw ppl came out so we went back to check. Thereâs a group of 4 before us getting in line so we waited after them. The group of 4 asked how long is the wait and the host said itâs 2 hours, but somehow let them sit down at the space to the left of the entrance. We ask the host how much longer we need to wait since some people just left, but she said itâs gonna be 1 hour wait and that some people are waiting before us. BUT HOW CAN THERE BE PEOPLE WAITING BEFORE US IF WE PUT DOWN THE NAME RIGHT AFTER THRE LAST SEAT WAS GIVEN OUT? HOW can the wait time for us be longer after some people left the place and no one entered before us? HOW can 4 ppl be considered a big party but 3 ppl is not. During this time another party has left and there were two tables open at the bar. We told the host weâd be willing to squeeze in a 2 ppl spot as we are all pretty tiny. Then she said âpeople here are paying 20 dollars per cocktail and they donât want to be uncomfortable in their spaceâ. I cannot begin to understand what this means: we are also prepared to pay 20 dollars per cocktail, are waiting customers not customers and donât need to be treated with respect? With all the conflicting information and the mean treatment that the host gave us, I cannot help but wonder if we were being RACIALLY...
Read moreWe took a deep dive into bad service, mediocre drinks and overpriced food!!! My husband and I decided to spend our anniversary night in seattle. We are both Architects and the fact that this restaurant was designed by a local architect was very appealing to us. We got there on a typical rainy seattle night. I had tried to make a reservation but they donât accept reservations! We arrived and although there were some empty seats the manager told us that it will be a 15 minutes wait. All good, I donât have an issue with waiting a little but they told us we need to wait outside!! I told them Iâm fine standing in the hallway since itâs pouring out. About 10 minutes later the manager told me we can sit at the bar and once I told him we would rather sit at a table they finally sat us down, mind you this table was empty the whole time we were there!!! The waitress came over and took our drink order. Once she brought the drinks we ordered a $20 hog dog. It was mediocre at best but we made the best of it. She didnât check on us anymore till we asked for the check. She dropped off the check and left and never came back. My husband had to go to the bar to pay the check!!! I left a note on the receipt âmaybe better service next timeâ. I normally donât do that but honestly at that point I was so disappointed with the service that I thought some feedback might help. Well we left and the manager called me. Not to ask about what went wrong but to scold me!!!! He didnât even want to hear what went wrong! I ended up hanging up on him when he started telling me that I shouldâve been an ADULT about it and talk to them directly!!! Are you kidding me?!!! Iâm speechless after this experience! We get better service from a teenager...
