100% Authentic Pho and Vietnamese Cuisine
I have been passing by this place way too many times; and I never got a chance to give this place a try. Now that I am writing this review, I must say I could recommend this place enough for people who are looking for a good and authentic bowl of Pho.
FOOD:
Ordered an entree of Fried Egg Roll, a bowl of Banh Hue (the spicier version of Pho) and a Vietnamese coffee. This combination is just insanely phenomenal.
The Egg Roll is freshly fried, full of rich deliciousness. They also come with this insane homemade sweet and salty chilly sauce, that I haven’t yet found any Vietnamese restaurants made that is this good. I would normally say to a lot of a people, judge a Vietnamese restaurant by their bowl of pho. But, I would like to update the statement to: “Judge a Vietnamese restaurant by this bowl of Pho and their Sweet and Salty Chilli Sauce. Period.”
The Banh Heu was just out of this world. Immediately after they put down the plate, this richness of shrimp paste goodness of an aroma hits you right up at the back of your nostrils. It smells so good that it reminds me of the younger me sitting on the curbside of one street food vendor stationed at corner of a Saigon street. It’s just unbelievable how good it smells. Then I added the fresh veggies that came along. It made the soup smell even better. The soup just tasted so so so good. It’s spicy (quite spicy actually, so people who don’t enjoy spicy be warned), it’s full of bone marrow, it’s just tasted so good. The bowl comes with a lot of great meat addiction. But, the star winner of the meat department would have to be their homemade pork meatballs. PEOPLE DO GET THE PORK MEATBALLS AT ALL COST! It’s so soft, it’s porky, it’s fully, it absorbs the soup so well. Every bite of that homemade pork meatball is just transcendent!
And then there’s the Vietnamese coffee! It’s so well made that it helps wash down everything spiciness with ease, without the over jarring of taste that a normal Vietnamese coffee would have. It’s milky, it’s sweet (but not too sweet), it’s just too good!
ATMOSPHERES :
This restaurant isn’t the biggest compares to a lot of other ones I’ve been in. But, my god they work the place to perfection. It’s clean, it’s well-designed. Just couldn’t get any better for the use of space.
SERVICE:
The staffs here are great. Very attentive, very helpful. If there’s more than a 5-stars for service, that’s what they would get.
PRICE:
The price is as any other restaurants in Seattle, cuz it’s in Seattle lol. You wouldn’t be able to find a bow of pho that is less than 15$. However, I’ve been in other places that cost the same, if not more, and...
Read moreI eat here all the time, the prices are stellar for downtown (well to me it's downtown.) I live nearby and eat a bowl of pho whenever I feel sick. It's like chicken noodle for this nerd's soul. Sometimes when I eat it in house at the bar I get a cute waiter who is always super smiles during the day. I've eaten here at night too and the service was similar. For me it's 5 stars because it feels authentic and is also greatly priced. Feels like a home diner from Vietnam, if there was such a thing, with a bit more class. They've always got the broth pot boiling so it's good. Just ask for some pho with thin sliced beef. Spring rolls are good too. The burgers I like too. But if you don't like vietnamese food you probably won't like it here. My best friend wasn't impressed by the burger. But liked the ambience and the scenery (if you know what I mean. ) give it a try! the bowl of pho is only $10 as of this...
Read moreBeef pho was good (7/10), I've had better. Shrimp spicy pho was better (8/10), not too spicy not too bland. I give a 2 stars because customer service was not the best. And the place wasn't even busy when we went. They never asked us if we wanted to order drinks. They did bring us iced water (it wasn50 degrees out and raining) and left. Came back and said "what are you having ?" When I finally managed to get the guys attention (again restaurant wasn't busy) to ask for hot sauce and hoisen sauce he was rude and said "you want Sriracha? That's all we have" I said "no thanks" and he brought me the hoisen sauce without apologizing for not having any proper hot sauce. For example he could have said "sorry about that " or "sorry we only have Sriracha " instead of "you want that?" . Over all give this place 4/10 for unpleasant customer service. I would not...
