Edit:When I ate here, there was me and my girlfriend and one other table with two people at it. I left a 1 star review and suddenly four 5 star reviews were generated...but there was nobody else there. It is my belief that this restaurant is acquiring fake reviews to keep a good rating.
Short read: I would not recommend giving this place a chance until they've made many adjustments.
Long read: We visited this place on a Friday night before going to a show. It was empty, and the pictures and descriptions in the windows looked promising.
The menu items describe a "choose your protein" and when I asked what the proteins were I was told "chicken or vegetable". Placed an order for the naan roll, a burrito, and masala fries. Then the cashier asked us to choose the protein and turned her screen around to give us like 8 options...so I don't know why she only said 2 when I asked. We repeated our order several times at her asking.
We sat down, they brought the naan roll and the burrito and we started eating. The naan roll was ordered with lamb, but the lamb option was basically sliced luncheon meat that tasted like they took a package of discount sandwich meat from Safeway and called it lamb. Mix it with chopped onion and dressing and charge $10. The burrito was similarly cold and unimpressive. The fries were not delivered until long after we finished eating the main course. They had the consistency of microwaved leftover fries drowned in ketchup...but if I tried to convey the real taste to you I would ask you to go to mcdonalds, order the chicken nuggets, slather their bbq sauce packets on it, and thats what the masala fries tasted like but I'd rather have the mcdonalds.
We each ate one fry and put the rest in the garbage as we walked out to find a dessert somewhere to make up for it
They have a pool table in the dining area and that's the only reason why I'm not asking for a zero star option.
I don't know how to prove this isn't AI generated...so here's some random words. Giraffe, faucet, gubernatorial, affogato, a selection of umbrellas using various colors of the rainbow, a date with my girlfriend that went horribly wrong for dinner but delightfully right after sharing our...
Read moreI really wanted to give this place a try but after eating here I would strongly suggest to stay away. Firstly, I had a bad feeling because the reviews seem to be mostly fake. Even still I gave it a chance but the online ordering and in person menu are super inconsistent and don’t offer the same things so already that caused a lot of confusion as what I wanted to order didn’t even seem to exist. The lady that works there is nice but none of the employees really know what’s going on which resulted in a lot of back and forth while trying to order. We were served someone else’s paneer naan which was okay but then the rest of our food started coming out very late and inconsistently despite the restaurant being fairly empty. I eat tons of food all around Seattle and have to say that this food is a scam. If you want good kathi rolls go to Spice Waala because the ones here are wrapped in literal burrito tortilla. The gulab jamun came out extremely hot and soggy. We also ordered samosas and the flavor isn’t horrible but they were so soggy and greasy. At this point I realized they had forgotten about my butter chicken bowl and we had been in the restaurant for a long time so I asked for it to go (also serving as a reminder that I ordered this in the first place). In conclusion, unless you want to experience the bad service and food for yourself, don’t go. There are better Indian restaurants in U District and...
Read moreEDIT2: Be warned - many of the reviews of this place are fake and AI generated as well (attached an example screenshot). Stay away from this place.
EDIT: The reply from the restaurant that you may see below is entirely AI generated 😂 This place is such a joke… See attached screenshots. If you want good Indian food, go to Taste of India (right by this garbage spot) or Maharaja (on Sandpoint). To Naan Stop - maybe get your act together instead of insulting your customers?
ORIGINAL REVIEW: This was truly, impressively, bad. Got takeout, and got all the way home before we realized that none of the food was edible.
Let me back up - when I placed the order, it didn’t give me a pickup time. It told me immediately that it was ready. Confused, I went to see for myself. They seemed scattered, and fulfilled my order in front of me, grabbing miscellaneous food. This was already a 🚩, as it demonstrates that the food was not fresh.
Now, the specifics: Fried onions were not crunchy, and weirdly soggy. Chole was revolting. It was a weird oily brown mess. The sauce was just…brown oil? It was gross. Butter chicken had a total of one tiny piece of chicken, and was extremely oily and too salty to eat.
We tried this place because the reviews on here were generally positive. Do not make the same mistake. I eventually had to dispute the charge as I was unable to even get back in touch with...
