Tea 1/5. Ice cream 4/5. The inside of Cold Plate is pretty hot surprisingly. They do have a tablet you can order from.
Tea is pretty watery and the variety is lacking too. Toppings feel pretty limited and they don't actually have regular boba yet offer crystal boba. The grass jelly is definitely not grass jelly, it's a firmer cube cut of jelly much like coffee jelly texture. It's also tasteless. Friends got the matcha and a yakult drink and I got the Japanese roasted milk tea. I'm an avid boba drinker and couldn't bring myself to finish it, the cubed grass jelly didn't help.
I also felt cheated from the cups that they advertise and display. Not a big deal but the cups could've improved the experience as anything that looks good psychologically leans towards being better and this is true in all design (+ people are likely to be more lenient when something looks better). They have some nice Cold Plate labelled cups with a bear cap that could've made me feel like the drink is better.
Ice cream was very creamy though and amazing. Rolled ice cream isn't that much different than scooped ice cream, usually a tad creamier. Presentation was nice, which also improved the experience (I promise it's part psychological). I can't complain here, they have solid flavors albeit not super unique, the mix-ins help enhance the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were in the area and searched up ice cream places, this place was the closest so we popped in. Employee wasnāt interested in greeting or explaining anything so we just had to wing it.
Never heard of rolled ice cream, no flavors are on display, menu is insanely confusing with no description on what flavors are. Whatās ācereal milkā ice cream?? I just wanted plain chocolate with Oreo crumble, but what I got was something coconut mixed into the chocolate and one whole Oreo on top⦠my brothers was not picky and said his soft serve ice cream was good, he winged it with the order since nothing was explained or described. Oh, and you order on an iPad and have to put your phone number in which I didnāt likeā¦
If you want to try something new, the rolled ice cream really was great. It was thicker and almost chewy. But I wasnāt happy with whatever coconut white stuff was mixed in when I asked for the custom order. The ordering process is strange, and the flavors are weird but overall good for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: I recently went back with a friend and the ice cream was not the same. The ice cream barely filled the cup, was melting, and she tried to put deflated melty whip cream on my ice cream. The woman making my ice cream was clearly annoyed with my open and direct corrections as I requested that she fix it. This use to be a 5 star experience but after this, it's maybe a 2. The way you prepare someone's ice cream, especially if they're paying $15 for it, matters immensely. Its also discerning that there's no way to remotely contact the store or get in touch with management. I don't know if I'll be coming back after this experience because I hate wasting money. I used to love getting ice cream here. It's just too much of a gamble knowing that I might get different quality everytime I go in depending on who's making the rolled cream.
Previous review: Honestly, I wanna go back š tastes like dip and dots but bigger. Highly...
