Well, this is the first time google reviews were wrong. We went here because we didn’t know Sumo sushi down the street was more expensive for dinner and didn’t want to pay 32$ per person. Walking in to village sushi was unnerving; it smelt gross, like bad fish, it was dimly lit, and kind of grimy. Because of the reviews, we decided to ignore this and eat here anyway. It took a while for a waiter to take our order, even though there were very few people there. I got miso soup and 2 sushi rolls, and my wife got chicken yakisoba noodles. The miso soup tasted like weed, that was not a good start. Had to go to the bathroom and it wasn’t very clean. When I came back it was time to eat; the fish was pretty fresh, but wasn’t cold, it was room temperature. The rice in the rolls was over cooked and mushi, and the tempura shrimp wasn’t crispy, like it was fried a couple hours previously. Not bad tasting, but not worth 25$ for 2 rolls. The chicken noodles were just okay. They had a weird cinnamon taste to them, and they were lukewarm. The chicken also didn’t have a lot of flavor, and all around it was very disappointing; my wife felt sick to her stomach an hour after eating here, would not go back. Should have spent the extra 15$ and eaten...

This used to be the best sushi in the area, but something seems to be going wrong. The last few times their rolls were very messy, bit the fish quality was still pretty good. The rice was too soft one of the last few times. We thought maybe they had a new chef. I usually make a to go order with 4-6 items. In the past three times I have ordered, I was told it would be about 25-35 min for prep. When I go to pick up, it seems like they haven't even started making it. The average wait for me after the time they said it's ready is 30-50 EXTRA minutes on the 25-35 time. On time I waited outside for it for 70+ minutes. Tonight I ordered and was told it would be 25-35 minutes as usual. Great. I came about an hour and twenty minutes later to make sure I wouldn't be waiting an insane amount of extra time again. When I got there's they told me it had been an hour since I ordered so they didn't have my order. Since they've rarely had it ready in this amount of time, I wonder if they even started making it. Another group sitting at a table was commenting on the time (and saying they ordered at 7:15 when sitting down. It was 7:55. I can't say...

We could really see the sushi chef’s personal touches to the restaurant, from the jazz music to all the different paintings on the wall. The environment was not what I expected of a sushi restaurant but I really enjoyed the cozy, artsy feel to it. For appetizers, we ordered the vegetable tempura, which was lightly battered and pretty crispy. Then we got udon, I forgot which one, but when we tasted it, the broth was really sour. We asked the waiter to bring it back to see what was wrong. The sushi chef then came to our table to apologize and said that one of the chefs added vinegar to it. We got a new bowl of udon and it tasted way better. The rolls we got included the spider roll, cucumber roll, negi-toro roll, and godzilla roll. They were all okay. Finally, we ordered the sushi deluxe which was the best part. All 7 types of fish were really fresh and pleasant to eat. Overall, if you were to come here, maybe skip the rolls and definitely get the...

Delicious, reasonably priced sushi in a quaint, chill spot. Miso soup: not too salty with a light miso taste. Perfect temperature. Negi-toro roll: refreshing, strong tuna taste. Clean cuts and rolls. Salmon roll: my favorite! Nice balance of fatty delicious salmon with a melt in your mouth texture. Mango mochi: mango-flavored ice cream served with whip cream. A nice portion all for yourself or easily split. I wish I could have the option to sample all 3 flavors without needing to order each one individually. Service was very attentive, although my table was kind of awkwardly waiting for the check at the end for a little too long. It's a bit of a busy spot in the evening. Jazzy, relaxed atmosphere. Cool art & antique radios that add a lot to the fun vibes. It was quite chilly in the restaurant, so be advised to wear layers, lol.
