I had a REALLY messed up experience the last time I picked up food from this restaurant (harassment, discrimination, violation of privacy), and now I feel like I'll never frequent this place again.
The cashier that was working that night around 10pm (Sunday 8/5/18) was visibly offended by how I looked (I'm a very alternative Middle Eastern guy, heavily pierced and tattooed) and he gave me a lot of unnecessary attitude. It felt like he didn't want to serve me. My food wasn't ready when I got there even though it should've been (ordered and paid online for pick up, and my order wasn't even being made/packed when I got there. I guess they completely forgot about it??), and he took other people's orders as they came in the restaurant and finished serving them before ever getting to me, and he was actually really nice to everyone else that came in/was already there, except for me. Completely unprofessional and quite frankly INSULTING. SHAME on you.
The most offensive part of this experience was the cashier's friend who was just hanging out but decided to get something to eat before he left. He was sitting in front of me and tried his best to take pictures of me without my permission, pretending to take pictures with his cashier friend but visibly trying to get an angle that has me in the shot. That didn't work because I noticed what he was trying to do, so I gave him my back instead. He kept trying to sneak shots of me to the point where he literally lifted his phone right at me without even trying to be sneaky about it!!!! The cashier saw this absolute madness happening and didn't care one bit. Again, SHAME ON YOU for letting your friend (who didn't even pay for his food) harass a paying customer and not doing anything about it.
All I wanted was to pick up a nice meal and head home after a long busy day, instead I was harassed, had my privacy violated, and felt extremely threatened by both of these guys. What a shame. The food is actually good and this place was my go-to for shawarmas, but I wouldn't want to feel this sense of judgement, hatred and discrimination when buying comfort food. If you're Middle Eastern with piercings and tattoos, stay away from this place at night.
(EDIT: Response to the owner: I was talking about myself, not the cashier I was dealing with. And because he took offense to me being a pierced and tattooed Middle Eastern guy, he was extremely rude. I don't see any other reason why he would be extremely offensive towards me and respectful/friendly to everyone else. His friend was trying to take pictures of me without my permission because of how I looked/my piercings/tattoos, which is EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE, and the cashier didn't do anything about it. I hope you're able to identify the cashier who was working that shift and resolve this matter with him because this experience was just unbelievably...

Lamb shawarma - wasn't shawarma (as best I can tell it was minced lamb, not cut from a spit, probably pre-cooked and re-heated in a frying pan)... It was extremely rubbery and gristly. Had it been seasoned, slow roasted, and sliced thin, it would have had a different texture and flavor, but it was just unforgivable. Stay away.
Pita - the pita was actually quite good. It was fresh, soft, slightly chewy, a proper "thick" pita.
Hummus - creamy and smooth. A bit bland but perfectly fine, especially if it is mostly used in sandwiches (makes sense).
Saffron rice - nothing special, but saffron rice is delicious.
Falafels - light on fava beans (these were brown not green inside), had an interesting slightly smoky flavor (heavily fried) but they were moist and fluffy on the inside. They were probably the most unique aspect of this place. Not the best I've had, but I would happily order a falafel pita with these. They were tasty.
So my recommendation is: absolutely don't order the shawarma, but having sampled the ingredients separately, I'd suggest the falafel pita, which combines ingredients that were all pretty good. One day maybe I'll try the gyros, but given the catastrophic failure on the lamb shawarma, I'll be trying some other...
Read moreit could be because I have not had gyros in a long time... And it could also be because I was extremely hungry... But OMG! This place was off the hook awesome! I had the beef gyros with fries and by dining partner had lamb.
what brought my attention to it was that this place is open late and always does business yet I have not heard anything bad about it.
So last night we decided to pick some up on our walk home. Mind you this is the first time I've gotten eaten anywhere in my new neighborhood which I could contribute to the virus. FYI they have their masks they have their gloves then very sanitary and aboveboard:-)
In the whole block and a half between this establishment and where I live, my beef gyro did not stand a chance! It was that delicious!
As a pre-warning and a heads up, my beef gyro was kind of spicy set to somebody who is not into spicy things, do not get beef. Besides being spicy it was not Chrisley but perfect meat awesome spices then the vegetables are fresh they had a crunch, and of course the sauce makes everything and it was just absolutely divine!
Like a movie review, I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up! Five star rating simply based on tastiness :-) and my dining partner echoes my sentiments. If you're in the area or simply craving this style of, definitely go...
