Cranes Landing is a modern pho house that leans clean, fresh, and straightforward. The menu is tight: pho bowls built around one protein each, served with basil, lime, jalapeños, beansprouts, onion, and cilantro. No MSG, no fuss — just a lighter, clearer take on Vietnam’s national soup.
The Brisket Pho ($18.49) is the comfort pick, with tender slices that soak up the broth. The Steak Pho ($18.49) lands a little richer, while the Chicken Pho ($18.49) keeps things lean and homey. Seafood lovers can splurge on the Shrimp Pho ($23.39), where briny sweetness meets the herbaceous broth.
There are thoughtful touches, like a Kids’ Pho with 1 Protein ($13.68) and the option to grab a 16 oz Pho Soup ($5.78) if you’re just after the broth.
It won’t replace your favorite old-school pho joint, but Cranes Landing fills a niche: pho that’s cleaner, MSG-free, and approachable for families in Shoreline.

Read moreToday I got the steak banh mi for lunch here and it was a uniquely good experience.
I’ve had a lot of banh mi over the years but this one’s special. Calling it “steak” makes you think there’d be thick cuts of angus on this sandwich but it’s actually closer in texture to a chopped beef, very fine and with a very typical sweetness to the marinade. Most of the fixings are also typical - pickled carrot, radish, a slice of cucumber with jalapeño, parsley and onion - but what stands out is this hot mustard that coats the inside of the bread. No sauce on top either, which is appreciated and makes for a much cleaner experience. The deep tang of the mustard mixes with the sweeter pickled veggies and the freshness of the cucumber to make each bite refreshing and flavorful, while delivering a bit of that mouth numbing spice.
Overall an incredible sandwich, perfect for a light lunch, and one of my favorite banh mi...
Read moreI had the steak pho, there’s no tripe, no tendon, no meatball, no brisket. Etc. Just a couple pieces of almost fully cooked beef. The protein is a bit boring, you get one thing and one thing only. If you want 2 types of protein, it’ll cost extra. But if you’re a picky eater (or not as adventurous with food) you’ll probably like this place. The broth is alright, noodle is too hard. Even after letting it soak in the broth for a bit, it still didn’t get any softer. Mediocre pho overall.
In the summer, they have discount on Sunday (I think 20% off). So can’t complain too much, at least it’s inexpensive by Seattle’s standard. Trade off is—-Portion is tiny, but chipotle and dominos isn’t too far around the corner so you can stop by after a bowl of pho to get...
