Local Coffee Spot-Central Building — Restaurant in Seattle

i came to local today for my third and final time. let me start by saying i work in the food/service industry and i have compassion and sympathy. i tried ordering for pickup on their main site and when putting the order thru it kept saying "error" and wouldnt put my payment thru. i then went to grubhub and ordered thru that easily. when i got to local aparentally both orders did in fact go through and Peter tried to make my experience better with a free drink card (HA) unknown to peter ive ONLY had bad experiences here, i said thanks, took the free drink card and walked off angry. i didnt find it fair to be angry or thinking about leaving this review without peter knowing the story so i went back and let him know tthis was my third time here and ive NEVER had a GOOD experience. you could fix it by reimbursing me for the burrito i dont need. i also returned the free drink card bc i didnt plan on comng back unless he fixed this issue. didnt happen. now i get to tell this story to whoever will listen... steer clear of...

This has been one of my better go-to coffee spots. I have met the owner multiple times and they are awesome!!! I hate to have one or two experiences overshadow my good experiences but today was just not good. The kid that was working might have the worst customer service ever. When I asked what breakfast item was good, his replay was "none of it". it caught me off guard but I laughed and ordered a muffin. I was then handed a FROZEN MUFFIN (not cold, FROZEN). $14 for a coffee and a muffin that I couldn't eat. That kid could have just been having a bad day but for that much money, at least make sure I can eat the item.

Update: I wanted to give thIs place a second chance and it failed again. First off I got a large latte that was only filled about 75% of the way. Then I ordered the coffee cake and it took 15 minutes to come out. When it did, it was cold and raw. It never saw an oven. This was my last chance for this place. Finding a coffee shop where the baristas are enthusiastic about the fundamentals (espresso and coffee) is rare. Finding a coffee shop where the barista is knowledgeable on those same fundamentals, doubly so. Shoutout to Fern and Torin! These gals radiate so much genuine joy/positive energy to my day and I’m sure many others feel the same- you rock! Among the many local roasters, Local Coffee Spot in Belltown stands almost alone!

On top of the impeccable service- They managed to to incorporate a grunge aesthetic with open spaces and random plants everywhere. The point is, the atmosphere is fresh yet unconventional, I’m at peace every time I visit. The coffee is also very good. I recommend the Brown sugar cinnamon latte. Oh and the best part is, they serve oat milk and have an awesome line up of unique and well blended beans
