The classes are a nice, low impact workout. From my ~6 classes so far, the experiences can be varied based on the instructor and class type, so it takes some time to figure out what classes you like. Pilates makes for really good cross training and it's great for people who spent a lot of time sitting at desks.
I think I will complete the 3 month minimum on my membership and then cancel because the value for what you pay is not quite there for me. The classes here run about $35/class whereas my pole fitness studio is $20/class. Both are 1 hour duration and cap out at 12 people, so it's a reasonable comparison (although the Pilates classes are actually only 50 min long).
This was my first time doing pilates but I've done many other workout classes like yoga, pole fitness, orange theory, hiit, etc. Sometimes I think the Pilates classes try too hard to use a lot of fancy equipment for exercises that would be better done on just a mat. Occasionally that takes away from ensuring the right form and muscle engagement with moves because you're spending more time fumbling with the equipment. I'm sure that gets better with time and practice though.
On the flip side, the equipment is fun to use and there are some cool unique things you can do on the reformer. I recommended these classes to my mom and sister who have less mobility and struggle with things like putting weight on their knees, although these are quite expensive to do long term. Pilates are fun and if they were just a bit less expensive I think I'd stick with it longer.
Overall it's 4/5 stars for me! Btw I wrote this review because they emailed and texted me like 10 times to leave one. I hope they accept my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never wrote a review on Google in my entire life and I always try to be reasonable and empathetic and respectful of other peopleās job. However, If there is zero star I would have given zero star to the Seattle SLU location. I signed the class up thru Classpass, tried to join the classes at this location 2 times, tried to make all the effort to come here 2 times and got turned down for 2 EVERTY times, for various reasons that they think they are right by their policies. And I was not compensated in any form. Just got turned down and the class fee I paid was just gone too. Yes since itās booked through Classpass so you can leave me to deal with Classpass everytime and say āthere is nothing i can do about itā. You also have your āreasonsā and I respect ur āwhatever policiesā. But Iām new to ur club so Iāam not 200% familiar with ur classs details and policies inside out. So now I just got penalized for being a newbie customer trying to navigate through ur policies/rules just to be part of ur community? And even just putting the lost class fee aside that Club Pilates SLU have no plan to do anything abt it anyways, JUST for the huge inconvenience and strong frustration you have incurred to ur customers, not just once but twice, (and I would not make it 3 times since I will never come here again), and all you did was just saying āIām sorry. There is nothing I can doā - I get ur standpoint and I respect to ur standpoint. But I would also leave it to whoever that reads the reviews to feel/judge how Club Pilates are treating their new customers, at least me as the customers booked thru Classpass. Iām really, really, really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmazing Pilates studio if youāre trying to figure out which studio to Join (almost 6 months member here) so here me out- the instructors are PROPERLY trained certified in traditional real Pilate workouts (compared to studies like Solidcore, Moov, etc - those are good for a mix workout). They are attentive to everyoneās workout and will quickly give you modifications so you donāt feel lost or frustrated that you are not quite at that level yet! Itās a beautiful unpretentious community. Lots of ranges of classes and even HIIT style workouts too! I also do 1:1 private lessons and itās worth it as a beginner so Iām seeing better core results and aware of the techniques. The jump board class was the the most fun cardio workout for someone with bad knees! Most importantly- Amy the manager is so good at communication via text and call. Very attention to detail and caring and friendly! Overall - I feel more and more confident. Im see results but probably faster when I was doing 60 minute private sessions. Classes I do are level 1 and 1.5 reformer, jump board, center and balance. Soon I will progress to other classes! But consistency and learning techniques is key! They been so patient with me when I always raise my hand to ask questions or say this isnāt...
