I’ve been eating here a couple times a year for 10 years, it was my favorite place for pho, mostly due to its location, the pho is not bad, but it’s nothing special. It’s food.
This week my 74 year old mother came to visit me in Seattle because a cancer that she has been in treatment for has begun growing again, and fast. I took her to Lucky’s pho because she never had pho before, and had never been to freemont before. I thought it would be a nice experience for her. It was Wednesday December 4th around noon. When we walked in there were two people in front of us ordering food, and there was plenty of seating. the treatments she’s been doing for the last year have stolen her energy and mobility. Walking even short distances is difficult for her. She was extremely tired from the walk to the restaurant, so I helped her sit down at a table and figure out what she wanted. I was standing in line while doing this, but facing the table instead of the counter. It only took 30 seconds, but when I turned around to face the counter I saw a single group of four people had entered, walked behind me, and cut me in line. I didn’t want to make a fuss about the line stuff because I’m pretty chill, so I took my new place at the end of the line to order food.
While I was waiting in line for food an employee went over to my mothers table and made her get up because she didn’t have food yet. they were rude about it. Didn’t care that she was tired, or that I was in line to obtain the food required to occupy the table. This establishment does not seat you. You order from the counter like McDonalds. We also did not see any signs saying you had to order before getting a table. Still, they made her get up.
We decided to eat somewhere else, and we told them as much as we left. I will continue to eat somewhere else for now on because of how this establishment treated my sick mother. I will not be back.
TLDR: this place wouldn’t let a tired old lady with cancer sit at a table while her son...
Read moreLucky’s Pho is the kind of neighborhood spot that doesn’t overcomplicate things—it just serves up honest, satisfying bowls of pho alongside banh mi and Vietnamese iced coffee.
Start with a Spring Roll ($8.95), fresh and clean, setting the tone for the meal. But really, you’re here for pho. The Pho Dac Biet (House Special Pho) ($15.95) is the clear standout, loaded with rare beef, brisket, tendon, and tripe in a broth that’s light yet layered with flavor. It’s the type of broth you keep sipping long after the noodles are gone.
If you want a more straightforward route, the Pho Tai (Rare Steak Pho) ($14.95) delivers that simple, pure beefy comfort. Vegetarians aren’t left out either—there’s a solid Vegetarian Pho ($13.95) with a clean veggie broth that holds its own.
Don’t skip the Banh Mi Sandwiches ($12.95). The pork version comes tucked into a crisp baguette with the right balance of pickled carrot and daikon for crunch and brightness. Pair it with a Vietnamese Iced Coffee ($5.50), and you’ve got a combo that hits all the right notes.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lucky’s Pho won’t blow you away with innovation, but it nails the basics with care. It’s the kind of place that becomes a go-to for locals looking for a reliable bowl and tourists wanting an easy introduction to...
Read moreWe decided to order a large bowl of beef pho with vegetable broth. It came with all the accoutrements: cilantro, limes, hot sauce, and chopsticks. There was plenty of fish sauce and fresh sprouts as per our request. I also added a chicken banh mi that was neatly packaged and retained it’s temperature on the car ride into neighboring Queen Anne, across the Fremont bridge. The food travelled well. It was neatly and tightly packed. No spills! They delivered in spades in 15 minutes. I arrived and the delightfully friendly woman at the counter said: I was waiting for you so I could prepare your drink on the spot with fresh boba. It’s best that way and I wanted to make sure it tasted just right. Not sticky! She offered a smile and friendly goodbye. One large bowl of pho, a sandwich and tall cup of a freshly made boba beverage was the perfect remedy on a rainy and wintry day. It hit the spot. My husband loved it-it was a perfect lunch for me, my husband and my little boy for sure. We will See you soon! I’ll gladly bring my family when they visit us this New Year. Thanks Lucky’s. We took a chance and you delivered on service, taking orders over the phone with ease and patience, and delivering a quality of goods that is truly...
