The service of this restaurant should be at ZERO ! Management is messed up and THEY DON'T EVEN TRY TO BE NICE OR TO SERVE PROPERLY.
If you are Thai, I suggest not to come to this place, I felt two standards from how they served us and treated us, I wish I'm wrong. Their facial expressions said it all, and the ignorance level is at its finest.
First of all, we went to this restaurant on June 6, 2024. We ordered bottles of wine. The waiter ask one of us to pass along all the wine glasses to our crews. We felt that wasn't a big deal, we didn't resist but we questioned them that they weren't busy at all. It was around 3pm, there weren't many customers and they got 3-4 waiters.
Secondly, we ordered the best wine they have in the restaurant and it came in WARM! the manager who brought glasses wine to pass along did just hand me an unopened wine and didn't care to talk to us at all. We had to ask for ice buckets just to let the wine's temperature to cool down and it came really late even the restaurant wasn't busy at all. This is not acceptable for us, we had never seen any single restaurant in the US did this to us before. I believed the server, or especially the manager should be the one who put wine glasses in front of everyone, opened the wine for us, and should be the one who pour wine from bottle to our glasses like most of the restaurants.
Lastly, the service was extremely unfair, they never came to our table. They sit under the bar to play their cellphones, and avoid an eye contact when I seek some help with our dishes or drink. They introduced me to another female server who does all the responsibilities in this restaurant which delayed most of the tables including ours. I felt sorry for her doing that alone, serving, collecting, refilling every tables. The others (manager, male server, and another female server) were like I mentioned, their facial expressions kinda look bored (unhappy, no smiles). The food however was good, meet the standard Thai food in big cities like LA, Chicago, Boston, or even New York. We ordered a lot more than 15 food dishes because we love Thai food and we always want to support Thai restaurants in the States.
In the end, the purpose of this review is not to discredit anyone personally, I wanted to say that everything I mentioned was from a real event. I didn't gain anything from writing this review except I want to warn anyone who chose to dine in this restaurant. It was unfortunate to be in this event, and I hope they knew what they had done will cost them a decline of customer. What upset me the most is the ignorance from the manager. I suggest anyone who's dining in this restaurant has empathy and forgiveness if you experience a service like ours.
Note for the owner and manager: Please treat everyone equally, we all here for a good food, good service, and good experience. I felt bad writing this kinda review to you, but hopefully it will benefit you...
Read moreUpdated review: Still #1 Thai restaurant in Seattle for amazing food, reasonable prices, and great service. I tried the boat noodles everything and kin len wings and a draft beer from their happy hour menu which is available 3-6 pm every day. OMG the wings were soooooo good. It was fried well—the fried outside part was deliciously crunchy and the inside meat was well cooked. I didn’t get her name but thank you so much for your beer recommendation because I usually don’t like beer but I loved this draft beer so much!!! The boat noodles everything was also very delicious, the beef pieces were so tender and full of flavor! The soup is definitely on sweeter side but that’s what I wanted hehe. Will be back again for the happy hour!
Summer 2023: If you haven’t yet been, head on over there ASAP. Best food I had in Seattle by far 🫶 The spicy octopus carpaccio was the spiciest dish I ever ate in the United States. Tears and snot were automatically streaming down my face but it was so good. The octopus slices were very tender and this spicy sauce on top of it with peppers and onions was super spicy but so addicting. You can’t help but keep eating. The waitress recommended battered chicken red curry and pork toro which were both soooo good. The battered chicken red curry isn’t too spicy which I was very thankful for after having consumed the octopus. The battered chicken is the right amount of crispy for me — not too crispy that the roof of my mouth hurts and is being scraped but also not too soft. The curry sauce was really good with rice which they give a bowl of on the side. Just a beautifully executed dish with deep flavor. The pork toro was amazing! It is tender but has some firmness to it so it’s almost like crunchy texture? It’s grilled well and it’s so yummy when you dip a piece into the sweet sauce and eat it with the sticky rice. One thing I wouldn’t order is the grilled shrimp from the happy hour menu. They literally gave us 3 ittybitty pieces of shrimp for $7. What the heck?! So I wouldn’t recommend that dish. Also, the restaurant has a long wait — we went on Thursday 7:30 pm ish and it was like 30-40 minute wait. I wouldn’t recommend the atmosphere for people who don’t want loud noises. It’s REALLY LOUD with the restaurant packed with people talking with each other. Just a heads up. 9/10 (-1 for the ridiculously priced shrimp dish), would definitely go again the next time I...
Read moreWHERE DO I FRICKEN START!!!! (Read only if you love good Thai food!) Have you ever teared up from finding the food you longed for all your life. For me it's been over a year. I moved up here from California and have only a few food requirements. Good, delicious, savory Thai food. Authentic Japanese food...including ramen, and finally a good chili dog. I found the ramen and chili dog but really, really good Thai food eluded me. What eluded me even more was some good traditional Thai Boat Noodles. This place has it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When the waiter first served it in front of me I was really reluctant because most Thai restaurants in Washington don't have it or they make a not-so-authentic tasting version that is also not-so-tasty. Kin Len makes the traditional spicy insane delicious savory Boat Noodles!!!! I'm gonna try and make it a point to go every few weeks so I can have this! Also the rest of the dishes and drinks were delicious as well. The steamed bread desert was so simple and good we ended up ordering two of them. I can't remember all of the names of the dishes we ordered since my wife and our friends ordered most of it (they're all Thai) but the fried chicken, dumplings, the veggie spicy salad thing, curry, grilled octopus, and, of course, the Boat Noodles-My friend had it also, neither one of us shared it with our wives or friends. Don't get me wrong, everything was delicious here but I have a special affection for Boat Noodles(and Japanese Ramen). They have some pictures on the menu which I hope they add more. The entrance is a bit tricky as, since the restaurant is located on the corner, you would think the entrance is right where you think it would be, it's actually 3 doors down. Not a big deal. Just a little odd. I believe the owners are the same as Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen in Lynnwood and Kirkland. Also an awesomely delicious place!...and they have mango sticky rice. This is my all time favorite dessert. The menu is different from those restaurants which also causes so much conflict within me. Do I go to Isarn and have some delicious thai food and end it with my favorite mango sticky rice?....or do I go to Kin Len and have that awesome "happiness in a bowl" of Boat Noodles and finish it off with the steamed bread dessert????
P.S. sorry for the terrible pic of the Boat Noodles. I was too busy chowing down on it when I realized I needed evidence of...
