Easily the best customer service I've had in perhaps forever. I recently had surgery on my leg, making it so I'm unable to drive or even walk for the next few months. I wanted to make Valentine's day special for my wife, who has been doing all the "heavy lifting" with me laid up, so I decided to recreate her favorite breakfast from a local restaurant that was a Covid-casualty - Cinnamon Swirl French Toast. The key ingredient was Macrina Cinnamon Swirl Brioche, which is only sold in their shops. The easy solution was to have it delivered via DoorDash but after a week of trying (unsuccessfully) to get the bread to show up in the app, I was about to give up. I had spoken with a few managers and none could get it working. As a last ditch effort, I called one last time and spoke with someone new, who listened to my story and tried every option they had - and it still wouldn't show up. So, instead of telling me "too bad, sorry about that" - they offered to HAND DELIVER the loaf themselves. Obviously this is not standard service and was not to be expected, but they seemed moved by my plight and wanted to help out. I cannot express how grateful I am for their actions - there is certainly a reason they are the General Manager. Oh, and the French Toast was amazing. :)

Highly recommended if you plan to visit between 6-11 am it is not a 5 star after thatšŸ™ƒ The last few times I visited this palace I was wondering why they have such a high rating until I eat the best bagel that I had in my life here today!šŸ˜‹The last two times I was here I visited in the afternoon and I was wondering why they have such a high rating because there was very little variation to select from. But today I went there early in the morning and it was a completely different universe! I’ve so far tried 4 of their goodies: 1. Everything bagel: I got everything bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was toasted to perfection and it was crunchy and crispy on the outside with a perfect bagel texture in the inside with a hint of sourdough flavor. Cream cheese was wiped and light. Enjoyed every bite and will be back for more. 2. Holy poly: creative sweet which is a combination of cinnamon roll, and croissant. A flaky texture topped with cream cheese with raisins and roasted coconuts in the middle layers. 3. Passion fruit something: very good highly recommended if you like passion fruit 4. Lavender lemon sweet: it was good. Not my favorite but my friend really enjoyed it.

You don't have to go to a Macrina bakery to get Macrina baked goods because they are in almost every coffee shop in Seattle. The pastries aren't top-notch though. That's what annoys me when I see Macrina's stuff everywhere. Macrina's "croissant" is not even a croissant, but its Italian cousin called cornetto–a softer, sweeter, and less buttery version, basically a bad croissant. It breaks my heart to see "cornettos" everywhere in Seattle. The biggest strength of Macrina is their variety and I give them credit for that. They have a lot to offer, breads, pastries, muffins, cakes, as well as breakfast sandwiches. A visit to Macrina can easily make a full breakfast. They are a bit pricey though, especially considering the quality and taste of the pastries are nothing spectacular. This location in Belltown has only indoor seatings but they look cozy and people seem to enjoy spend some time here.

I recently visited this cafe in the last 12 hours and felt compelled to share my experience with everyone about the customer service, or lack thereof, that I received upon entering this establishment for the first time. I will say before I go into the customer service side of it that upon entering, the entire establishment was cute in appearance and smelled wonderful. That's where the pleasantries ended for the place.... After waiting in line for 10 minutes to get a coffee, I finally got up to the front counter and was greeted by the most unpleasant man I have ever had the misfortune to meet. After I walked up and said hello, he didn't even have the decency to acknowledge that I had greeted him, nor did he bother to respond with anything other than, "What did you want..." then refused to even look up at me. As I had never had the opportunity to visit this establishment prior to this visit, I politely asked the gentleman if I could have a slice of pie that they had in their display; and also asked if he had a Caramel Frappuccino of some sort, as I was unaware that they only offered a very minimal coffee selection. He responded with no we don't do that. I then asked him if they carried any other flavors like Caramel or Hazelnut. His response blew me away, he said, and I quote, "lady, what don't you get about the fact that we only have one flavor?" I was so shocked that I paid for my piece of pie, declined the coffee and stepped to the side. I stood there for about 5 minutes as I watched others in line receive their pastries and coffee, patiently waiting for mine. As I stood there, I began to wonder if I had heard him say how long it would be, or maybe he had forgotten to put my order in, because as I said, 5-6 customers had already been served that were behind me in line at this point. So I walked back towards the guy who had taken the order originally and ask him if my slice of pie was ready. In the most sarcastic, rude, horrible tone, he responded with, "you just need to be patient, the guy is putting it in a box right now, we are busy, can't you see that?" By the time my slice of pie came out 5 minutes after that incident, I was beyond embarrassed and angry that a company that does so much business could allow one of their employees to treat a customer in such a horrible manner. I even complained to another employee about how bad it was and she shrugged her shoulders before going back to what she was doing. I left that place in tears and dropped my pie in the garbage. I will NEVER GO BACK, and you can be sure that I will make sure everyone knows about the horrible customer service that your establishment allows employees to deliver. Upon further review of the comments on your reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one who...
