If you're taking an NCL Cruise from Seattle to Alaska and flying in to Sea-Tac Airport I suggest using Uber or Lyft to get you to the pier. NCL Pier 66 is actually one of the better peers as it's dedicated for NCL cruises and it's much closer to the airport than the other peers which I believe Crystal and Princess Cruises use.from what I understood there's basically two areas of peers for all the cruise ships that depart Seattle going up to Alaska and you want the pier that's around number 66 rather than the ones which I believe were in the 70s because they really are quite a bit farther from the airport.
Make sure that you understand that you can only meet your Uber or Lyft driver at the upper level of parking structure number 2, I believe, please check this out with Uber or Lyft, they both have directions on where to locate their drivers at Sea-Tac. The drivers will not pull up outside baggage claim to pick you up.
NCL spear 66 is pretty new, and while traffic was jammed at 1 p.m. when are Cruise was disembarking at 6 p.m., the driver dropped us off right in front of the pier and Upon Our return from Alaska the driver again pick this right up in front of Pier 66's exit. it was $35 from Seatac to Pier 66 with lift cuz I had a $10 coupon and 42 or $45 without the coupon.
Once you walk into the NCL Pier 66 building or terminal as they call it, you'll notice the Disneyland lines right away is that keeps zig-zagging back and forth back and forth with no end in sight. When we first saw the line we got very frustrated, however, the staff does a fairly good job of expediting people and there registrations and I think it took us about 40 minutes from the time we walked in to the end of the line to the time we walked up the ramp onto the ship.
Keep in mind, we were on the Pearl, a 2300 passenger ship and not the new Gigantic ship, which began operating in 2018. I forgot the name of this new ship but it's the one that alternates Seasons between Alaska and the islands off of Miami, Bermuda or Bahamas, etcetera. I have no idea what the situation is with that new seafaring Mall of the Americas cruise ship. But I suspect the line will be just slightly longer buy an hour or two. If it was me, I would then choose to go to the farther piers just so that it would be easier to board one of the smaller ships of the competing Cruise Lines.
As a side note, we had a balcony cabin on the port side of the ship which turned out to be very good because on the way back to catch a can from Glacier Bay as we neared the pier we held our hands out with some pieces of food we picked up from the breakfast and the seagulls, one after the other, would slowly hover over my girlfriend's hand, and eat the pieces of chocolate croissant, appearing from nowhere, as if they could read her mind and know where she was and what she was offering them. I got it on video tape and the simple and pure joy on her face with the seagulls eating off her hand is priceless. She gave some pieces 2 The Neighbors on both sides of our cabin so that they could also feed the seagulls as after we noticed them leaning over the balcony and watching my girlfriend giggle and laugh at Steve's wonderful and friendly seagulls. Just try giving them more of the dough and less of the...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of starting our Alaska cruise from Pier 66 in Seattle, and it was one of the most scenic embarkation experiences weâve had. Located right in the heart of the waterfront, this terminal offers a panoramic view of downtown Seattle, the majestic Space Needle, and the glittering skyline â all visible from the upper decks of the ship while docked.
The check-in and boarding process at Pier 66 was smooth and well-organized. The staff were helpful, and everything was clearly marked, making it easy even for first-time cruisers to find their way. Once onboard, we took some time to explore the top decks before sail away, and I couldnât resist taking a few photos with my travel companion â a stylish cat-eared doll dressed for the occasion â with the city as our backdrop. đžđž
The view facing the north shows the iconic Space Needle rising proudly among mid-rise apartment blocks and glass towers â a contrast that gives Seattle its unique charm. The view to the south offers a dazzling cityscape with sleek high-rises reflecting the light off Elliott Bay. And right below, youâll see the historic Edgewater Hotel and the charming marina dotted with yachts and boats.
This location is perfect for photography lovers, city explorers, and doll photographers alike! The atmosphere is a mix of cruise excitement, urban energy, and Pacific Northwest calmness â especially with the sound of seagulls and ferries passing by in the distance.
If youâre cruising out of Seattle, I highly recommend arriving early to enjoy the sights from Pier 66 before departure. Whether youâre traveling with friends, family, or a tiny catgirl companion like mine, this spot captures the best of what Seattle has...
Read moreWe booked haven 2 bedroom family villa. First haven is a waste of money on this ship. Restaurant staff is friendly but super slow. Each meal at haven took over hour and half and not because they were busy or multiple courses...Just slow.
Spa - no thermal spa. Why on a mega ship?
Child care - we went with 4 kids - 13-9-2 and 1. Nobody told us there would be no child care for children under 3. Not even offered if we paid for it. I would have never booked the trip had I known they only offered babysitting or childcare after 3.
Stops- 6-7 hours in each location except the one they own. They leave you there for 10 hours. Overpriced excursions- mediocre food quality- no child care- long meals- small casino-balconyâs are tiny- there were carts in the hallways which made it impossible 90% of the day for strollers to push down the hallways.
The beverage package is a joke- paid for water and sparkling water.... lame
Haven benefits should have been priority embark and disembark. Took forever to get an elevator to the haven floor.
Didnât make reservations before cruise because I expected that haven guests would be able to make reservations when they got on boat- nope restaraunts were all full.
Alaska is amazing but ncl doesnât get credit for that. Short of the views and the people in Alaska total waste of money. Pick a different cruise line if your going to...
