We saw Nightclub here and both the show and the venue were amazing.
The security staff were polite and friendly, they helped get wristbands for our friends so we could stick together. I didn't see any "rude" or "bully" behavior whatsoever from the staff.
The bartender was great, the drinks were plenty strong and they were not that expensive. If you were coming here just to get drunk, it could add up.
I don't see how there was anyplace in that venue you could have been "cold", that being said it was not crazy hot either. If you are seeing a band up close and personal in a space that only holds 300 you are going to be a little sweaty at the end. Hint, stand by the stairs for a minute where the air comes down. Although don't sit there because um, fire escape? People need to go in and out?
Don't expect to sit. Why the hell do you want to sit? This isn't a stadium show, it's an intimate performance where you can be 3 feet from your favorite artist. There are 2 tables in the back and a couple bench seats. If you can't stand for a show it could be rough.
Accessibility hint: as it says right on the website, there is a wheelchair ramp around the back alley. Or if you really can't handle a few stairs.
Also in the back alley: a sweet 2nd bar where you can drink, eat Phillies and afterparty.
And lastly, if you are kid under 21 just be blessed that they even let you in the building. Liquor laws are tough. Thankfully our...
Read moreFor context i am 40 year old sigma male. I am low-key swag, and know all the cool things on tiktok, but dont like being uncomfortable. If you are young and punk you may not see the crowding and noise in the same light as me and you might actually enjoy this venue more.
The shape of the venue is problematic, it's basically 2 rooms, connected at one corner. There's a concert area thats about 60% of the space and the bar area thats probably 40% You cannot see the stage from the bar area, so if you go for a sold out show it will feel very overcrowded.
The artist i went to see played wonderfully, (puma blue) but I chose to leave 6 songs in because the sound was too loud! The volume was about 2x what it should have been for this artist, actually painful to the ears and boosted bass pounds though your chest. This type of sound production didnt fit with the soft, romantic crooning quality of the band that was playing. I feel it would have been way more enjoyable at 1/3 volume.
That said the workers are all very nice, and the security screener with short hair is a cutie pie. I would totally check out the Crocodile upstairs, and think the problems with M. Lou's could be resolved by letting in less people and definitely by adjusting the sound levels to the...
Read moreIncredibly disappointed that an awesome venue like this uses TicketWeb to sell tickets. They are a horrible company that consistently do not deliver tickets to you, don’t respond to customer emails, take months to get refunds, sell your information, have a 10 day waiting period to opt out of them selling your information, do not use a secure HTTPS secured connection for the site and do not use any safe means to purchase tickets (Paypal, Apple pay, etc). By all means, enter your address, phone number, email, and credit card info into their non secure browser at your own risk.
What does this have to do with the venue? It is the only option to get the tickets directly instead of the resell value on StubHub, etc. So, myself and many others I know do not see shows here because it is terribly difficult to get tickets that aren’t marked up by a substantial percentage. Please fix this. Do not do business with a slimy company...
