Heres the thing, when I am paying a luxury price, I expect a luxury product. Once we were in the room and the door shut, it was very nice. My partner and I had a water view from our room, gas fireplace, beautiful claw-foot bathtub, comfortable bed with crisp and clean linens: all of this was very nice.
Here are my problems: The website very clearly says in multiple places that they offer complimentary parking, I assume this would be self-park. Upon arrival, we are told that their on-site parking is valet only, and costs $55/night. The price for valet in indeed reasonable, however the website is deceptive because the complimentary parking is only offered upon booking a very specific package and there is no mention of that at all. On top of that, we were being told about this by the valet, who was incredibly dismissive of us when we questioned this, it was rude and I felt looked down upon. We made it inside, we paid a premium room rate, this was not a cheap hotel by any means, and we were not offered service from a bellman. There was a bell cart, behind a locked door. So right after we hand over our credit card for what was marketed as a luxury hotel, we shlepped our luggage to our room ourselves. The WiFi is inconsistent, this was not a business trip however we did both have to work remotely during our stay. This involved video calling and accessing shared drives, both of which require a stable internet connection. We made a mention of this to concierge and to no discernable result, it was like we reported an issue and were told "ok, so?" and I don't find that to be acceptable conflict resolution, especially at the room rate we paid at a luxury hotel. We ended up using a temporary hot spot through my mobile carrier, at an additional cost to us. Tech and utilites seems to be an issue here because the day after we checked in, none of the electric outlets on one wall worked, and the coffee maker didn't work regardless of where it was plugged in. We again brought all of this to the attention of hotel staff, who did absolutely nothing about it. I paid $90 for 2 coffees and 2 bagels at the hotel restaurant. This was not room service, I walked around outside and came back and paid with a different credit card and never referenced being a guest at the hotel, nor did anyone bother to ask if I was a guest. $90 for breakfast, and they forgot my bacon. This is outrageous. Upon checking out, we tried calling for a bellman, who never showed up, we called again and I was told its busy and I have to wait. We are on a schedule and had plans, we shlepped our bags back to the car, which took 20 minutes for the valet to pull up because he was chit-chatting with the barista in the lobby that had 0 guests in it, seems pretty busy.
I researched other hotels, it would have cost us less to stay at a luxury chain where their operations are closely monitored and regulated to be uniform luxury across all locations. We made the mistake of supporting local business.
This was incredibly disappointing, I really wanted to enjoy my stay, and the view was stunning, everything else tarnished my impression of The...
Read moreOn January 23 of 2025 we checked in the Edgewater hotel for my birthday. I turned 45 years old and we stayed through January 26 of 2025 however, my son ordered room service and the platter that it came with, was not fully there the top portion of The platter was there, but not the bottom portion, which is the plate is supposed to fit in the middle to keep the food warm and the plate secure. However, the bottom portion of the plant was not there. My son went to pick up the platter and the plate broke, which cut his hand severely. He had to go and get stitches in his pinky finger. I did talk to Sean in regards to this accident that took place and he told me that he would be contacting the Insurance company regarding filing a claim on my son‘s behalf of the incident that took place due to the responsibility should fully be on the behalf of the Edgewater hotel because of the negligence also as well as the room service was not served safely and securely with the platter missing pieces that makes it secure with the plate sitting in the middle however, it was very dangerous and the fact that the supervisor Sean told me that he would be contacting me with the claim information that same day I reported this after we got the medical bills from my son‘s visit on January 25th of 2025 however, when I called to get the claim information, he then ignored me with asking him. Could I be provided with the insurance companies’s phone number and the claim number he refused to give that information to me after Sean assured me that he would have this information back to me the same day he failed to do so and when I contacted them the next day, he did not want to provide me the information which is against my civil rights and my sons civil rights to have the insurance information that Which indeed in fact we’re at that hotel for my birthday had not the tray or the platter had been in place with all the pieces this wouldn’t have never happened so the negligence and the parties that should fully be responsible is the Edgewater hotel also as well. There’s a lot of dust behind the entertainment center that I kept getting stopped up to where I didn’t even stay there another night we just paid for it, but we did not stay and I have severe asthma so with this happening, I would hope that this never happens to anyone else because my birthday was ruined and now it’s still a process of me having to go through unnecessary procedures with being discriminated against at this point with not being provided the information to move forward with my son‘s hand being injured due to the negligence of the room service that was provided on the behalf of Edgewater Hotel this concludes my review that I’m writing and it is true and accurate. Thanks for your time...
Read moreI traveled a lot in the past, but for me, I felt like this was one of the best hotels because y'all are so nice and friendly. It wasn't just a job for them, I meant yes, it was a job, and they got paid for, but I meant like their personality because you could tell who's working but not happy or who's working and have a smile.
As soon as we pulled up, there was a gentleman who came around the vehicle and asked how many baggage we had. We told him we had two, and he went to the back and opened the trunk and took those baggage out. There was also another man who came to drive off the car a while Brandon took us inside to check in.
We went to a lady to check in, I forgot her name, but it was a lady that I told her that there was a piece of the 5 dollar bill on the counter but Brandon too when i mentioed that. He also asked, "Where was our first time here in Seattle?" He knew some good restaurants, activities, areas, places, and more things. If we needed something, just ask him.
In the late evening, Brandon wasn't there, but there were some gentlemen asked if we needed help, we needed our car to go out for dinner, as soon as he done with his customers, he went quickly to grabbed our car and brought it. My sister was like this hotel working as a team. Nice.
When we got back, there were always men at the door ready to help us.
This was incredible. The company or manager trained them well to assist their customers and respect, plus the employees also love their jobs to take care of their clients as well. Teamwork. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Inside the hotel and the views were fantastic. I never get bored of this ocean view. Once we went to have breakfast at 67 and the views OMG. Fall in love.
Back to the hotel, since we checked in, I saw an elderly lady was working hard, I watched her for a couple of minutes, and then I left.
The next day morning, I saw her again in the hallway but far distance, once she was close to our room. I went out to make sure it was her, and I gave her my bouquet 💐 flowers. I chatted with her a little bit, and we were the same height.
The reason I gave her my bouquet 💐 flowers is because I see her as a mom who's working hard at the hotel to provide her family, plus it was an early morning cleaning, too. It was about 9 am and she got up early to be there for her job plus also be there after I left and cleaned my room too. It's a hard job for elderly at this age, don't give me wrong. I don't judge, but I meant that some people won't care, and they be like it's your job, you get paid."
The employee is Vietnamese and has been working in this hotel for 15 years. WOW. I asked her permission to take pictures of her, so im hoping it's not something...
