Swing Sandwiches and Pizza – A Hidden Gem That Nails Flavor and Craftsmanship
If you’re anywhere near a Swing Sandwiches and Pizza location, do yourself a favor and make the detour. This place isn’t just another sandwich or pizza shop—it’s a small-scale masterclass in fresh, balanced, crave-worthy food.
The House-Made Ciabatta is the unsung hero here. It’s the foundation of every sandwich, and it’s no afterthought. Golden with a lightly blistered crust, airy inside but with just the right chew, it’s the kind of bread that makes you realize how important it is when done right. Every bite has structure, but it never overpowers what’s inside.
The TAB (Turkey, Apple, Brie) is a standout. Thin slices of roasted turkey paired with creamy brie and crisp green apple sounds simple—but on that ciabatta? It’s elevated. Sweet and savory. Soft and crisp. Clean flavors. You’ll finish it faster than you meant to.
If you want something with a bolder, saltier profile, go for the Italian-ish. Layered with cured meats, tangy pickled vegetables, and a spread that gives it just enough kick, it leans into tradition while feeling modern and not overly greasy like some deli-style sandwiches can get. Again: the bread ties it all together.
Then there’s the pizza. The thin, crispy crust sets it apart immediately. There’s no doughy middle, no soggy base. It crackles under your teeth while still giving you that slight chew near the edge. It’s the perfect base for any topping combo—but if you only get one, make it the Burrata Pizza.
The burrata arrives cool and creamy against the hot pizza, creating contrast in temperature and texture. The crust is kissed with olive oil and maybe a touch of garlic, the tomatoes are fresh, and the basil feels like it was just picked. Every component feels intentional, not piled on, and the balance is spot on.
Bottom line: Swing Sandwiches and Pizza doesn’t just serve good food—they serve tight, well-executed food made by people who care about each element. If you’re after quality ingredients, perfectly baked bread, and crisp, light pizzas that hit all the right notes, this...
Read moreI stopped by Swing Sandwiches & Pizza in Queen Anne and now I get why they sell out! Unfortunately, the sandwiches were gone by the time I arrived (note to self: order ahead next time), but I could see them prepping some for pre-orders and wow… they looked amazing. All the bread is baked fresh in-house, and you can tell they put care into every detail.
Since the sandwiches were out, I went for a whole burrata pizza — and oh my goodness, it did not disappoint. The crust had just the right crunch, the sauce was perfectly balanced, and the fresh burrata with basil tied it all together. Honestly, I ate half the pizza right then and there (balanced it out with a Diet Dr. Pepper, of course 😂) and saved the rest for my son.
The space itself is bright, cozy, and welcoming with both indoor and outdoor seating. You’re greeted with smiles the second you walk in, and it feels neighborly in the best way. I also noticed they have spots to plug in a laptop and even some cookbooks to flip through, which makes it a great spot to hang out. Parking in the area is surprisingly easy too.
The owner and staff are so warm and friendly — you can tell they really care about what they do and about the people who come in. This is exactly the kind of place the neighborhood needs. Can’t wait to come back early enough to finally snag one of those sandwiches!...
Read moreJust tried a new sandwich and pizza spot in Queen Anne, Swing on Galer next to Aegis Living and wow! What a nice addition to the neighborhood. The owner behind the counter greeted me like I was already a regular. Love that energy.
Ordered the “Italian-ish” sandwich and okay… it’s not going to win a beauty pageant. But one bite in and my taste buds started clapping. Ham, Salami Rosa, Genoa salami, olive pâté, arugula, and bread baked fresh daily? Flavor bomb. Balanced, not meat-heavy, and just straight-up delicious. I nearly inhaled the whole thing but forced myself to save a bite for my son. His review? Non-verbal. Just a series of happy, hungry, “mmmmm” sounds followed by “Can we go back later today?”
I also tried a slice of the burrata pizza. It was solid, not life-changing, but tasty and comforting. I'd absolutely order it again. Simple but tasty menu. This place is going to be a regular...
