Westman's Bagel and Coffee - UDistrict — Restaurant in Seattle

Incredibly underwhelming in every way. For a cute little walk-up not too far from UW, I thought I’d find better. $20 for a sandwich and basic drink is robbery.

The place was out of a significant part of their menu but did not indicate this except when trying to order said things. It would be much better if the menu were updated or written out daily so we could see what IS available.

I had the whitefish sandwich and hot cocoa, and both were so bland I thought my tastebuds had gone wrong. Ingredients were fresh, but the fish was under salted, pickles were near flavorless, and the bagel was just bread. Better texture than whitebread bagels, but it did not taste like a bagel. Cocoa was definitely some kind of basic powder with frothed milk.

Anyone looking for an authentic deli experience will be severely disappointed. Don’t waste...

Too long of a wait for a bagel and consistently out of items.

We have been going to Westman's pretty consistently once every weekend for a year. It used to be one of our favorite things to do on the weekend. However, the last few times we have been there, it has taken FOREVER to get our order, and they have been sold out of so many items. It has taken us on average 30+ minutes to get two bagels with cream cheese with no drinks. We even tried ordering 25 mins ahead of arrival, and we were still waiting over 10 minutes for our order with only one other person waiting at Westman's. Something has changed in the last couple weeks that has made this place unbearable to grab a bagel. Whatever has changed needs to be fixed so we can enjoy these amazing...

The bagels are really good, my third favourite in Seattle.

However, the filling of the bagel sandwiches was a huge disappointment. For expensive bagel sandwiches, you expect quality ingredients and an excellent experience. But the egg is a blended egg patty, the cheese is some cheap American, and the avocado was more guac-like than avo-like (my guess is they blend it up in a big tub with lime to keep it from going brown). Add-ons are horrendously priced too. I've had a bagel and cream cheese from here before and really enjoyed it, but this tasted like a McDonald's breakfast sandwich inside a really good bagel :(
