Just ordered a special pizza for my wife and I after a long day at the Grand Canyon. We were starving and it was a bit late but we were greeted by the owner and had a wonderful conversation while we waited for our order. Like I said it was a long day and we took our order to go back to the resort. Please ignore the people that complain about the price of the pizza. Youâre in Sedona what do you expectâŠWe just spent $175.00 on an amazing dinner last night and a fancy sit down restaurant. Now letâs talkâŠ. The pizza we ordered was a vegetarian but add Canadian bacon. Ok ok I know itâs a vegetarian pizza how good could it beâŠweâll let me tell you the crust was done perfectly the edges were crispy and just a bit soft inside and the center held up to the moisture from the veggies and made a perfect fold. Perfectly done and full of flavor veggies. My wife and I really do enjoy our pizza as we have difficult schedules and eat pizza probably 2 nights a week. So in my opinion we know a good pie. Oh also I travel around the country from coast to coast and border to border and pizza is always available for fast easy meals while out for work. I am always on the look out for the small local places. So when in town Please stop in and support a small family owned pizza business that is doing things right. Maybe you get a few snooty folks from time to time that donât understand the food service industryâŠ.Donât let it sway you. They are wonderful people doing...
Read moreMy wife and I were in Sedona on vacation and spent lots of time looking at the food places in town. This was our last day visiting and after a visit to ârottenâ Johnnys the day before with a disappointing soggy pie we looked for another pizza joint to try. After reviews and looking at pics we settled on Moondogâs Pizza to try. We werenât disappointedâŠpizza was cooked perfectly with great crust, flavorful sauce, gooey flavorful cheese and tasty pepperoni. The wings were done correctly as well with a little crisp and juicy. Not super fancy pizzas like other places in town but if youâre looking for a pizza done right with great staff that cares about their product we recommend Moondogâs. Only slight and easily overlooked minus is if you dine-in itâs a little warm in their small dining area but the staff made sure we were taken care of and our needs meet and felt if we needed anything else that theyâd be on it. Love these little places with committed staff and owners. Thanks again for the...
Read moreI have lived in Sedona since 2003. I tried Moon Dogs 18 years ago. It was greasy, disgusting garbage served by stoned hippies in a tiny shack. SO fastforward to a few weeks ago. Famous Pizza did not have delivery the night I was craving pizza. There was no option but Dominos (not real pizza) or Moon Dogs. Moon Dogs website showed crazy high prices, but free delivery Uptown. After an hour of deliberating if I wanted to try it again for such expensive pizza, I finally called. The guy said it was $7 delivery. I said the website says free for Uptown. He said, "ma'am"... SORRY but dont call me ma'am let alone try to charge me 7 dollars for free delivery on top of absurdly priced tourist pizza. I am a local! A local who tells other locals and toursits of my opinion. And my opinion is, after almost 20 years, don't waste your time or money. Its a rip off. The pizza would have to be freakin phenomina for the price. The service still lacking. I work hard for my money and would never give it...
