This place deserves 5 stars and so much more. I wanted different food from what's around the area and Japanese food sounded interesting. Our friends said this place was good. I was a bit mixed about the photos but decided it could be great based on their high Google rating. Walked in and it felt very cozy and welcoming. Fast casual style where you order and pay up front and then wait for your food. The gentleman who took our order was very kind and patient. We ordered as a group, family style since we wanted to try so many things. As a group, we ordered the tonkatsu ramen x 2, chicken karaage bowl, fish cakes, and seaweed salad entree. It didn't look like Japanese food I've had before. Not in the pictures and not when we received the order delivered right to our table. More like Japanese adjacent. And I thought "this looks good either way and it smells wonderful." Then I took a few bites starting wit the ramen...and it...was INCREDIBLE. The fresh grilled veggies in the ramen actually brought a new dimension to the broth. It was so complex with a charred and salty, and perfect. The ramen noodles were not like cheap rehydrated noodles, they were cooked perfectly and had the perfect bite with the thickness of the broth. The karaage was so juicy and perfectly fried. Not too much batter, but the right amount. It was in a bowl with wok seared bok choy and purple cabbage on a bed of rice with a spicy chili soy sauce on the side. The fish cakes were the star of the show. Lightly fried like the karaage but juicy and salty. They gave us a special Mayo sauce (think Sriracha Mayo) and it was perfect with the fish cakes. The spicy soy sauce was also a great dipping sauce for the fish cakes. Everything was absolutely perfect. Would definitely...
Read moreAngel Kitchen is such a charming little spot in Sedona. When you walk up, it feels like a cute house that’s been converted into a restaurant. It’s small and cozy, with just a little seating inside, a few tables out front, and some in the back as well. Parking is limited, so keep that in mind, but it adds to the tucked-away charm of the place.
We ordered both of the vegan ramen dishes, and they were flavorful with lots of fresh vegetables you could tell everything was cooked to order. We also tried the dumplings and the tofu, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. Prices were reasonable for Sedona, and portions were fair. The kids even ate most of their meals, which is always a win.
Customer service was wonderful — easily a 5 stars for that. Food-wise, I’d give it closer to 4 stars just because there are so many places to compare to, but still very tasty and authentic. Overall, I’d recommend Angel Kitchen if you’re looking for a low-key, authentic spot with fresh food and kind service.
It would be a great place for a casual lunch, and honestly, it feels like it would be a perfect little date night spot too. Worth checking out if...
Read moreBeautiful little Japanese restaurant. Small menu but seem to nail their dishes. Very accommodating with choices too. 3 different types of ramen. Tonkotsu, shoyu, and miso. I got the miso and was like this better be one of the best ramens I’ve had since it was $21 total to add a topping like chicken or tofu. No roasted pork belly option though. Price aside, since it’s Sedona, I’d give the ramen a 8.4/10. Broth was rich, veggies blanched perfectly, grilled chicken could have been charred better, had the texture of boiled chicken, would have loved to see a mushroom option in the ingredients. They also have a cool little grocery selection of Japanese foods and drinks. Not busy at all for a Saturday lunch. Really surprised by that. If you’re looking for a nice little spot for lunch really think you should give this...
