Myself, my 3 young adult children and 8 year old son visited Golden Nest for the first time on Memorial Day. We called in advance to make sure that seating was available. We were told that it was. We walked into the restaurant and explained to the hostess that we recently called and we’re in need of seating that could accommodate our dog. The Hostess said that she would have to check the outside patio for available seating. We were eventually told to follow the hostess to the patio. We were sat at a table amongst 3 other parties. After being seated for several minutes I noticed that the patrons nearby were being greeted by wait staff and offered drinks. I observed the behaviors of the wait staff for several more minutes. I must also add that we are Black and the other guest were Caucasian and non-African American people. After several more minutes I watched as wait staff walked back and forth to meet the request of the patrons. Eventually, I called for one of the waiters and told them that I was waiting for our waiter. The waiter said let me go get your waiter. The waiter approached our table. I explained to the waiter my concern with not being greeted after being seated, I further explained to the waiter that everyone around us were offered drinks and we were being ignored. I then asked to speak with a manager. Our waiter walked away. A woman named Elizabeth walked over to our table and said that she was a local. She further said that she was happy that I spoke up. She then started to ask what menu item we were interested in and gave her recommendations. We thanked her then she walked back to her seat. I explained to the male manager my concerns. The male manager immediately offered us tequila shots. Which we accepted. The male manager then says I’ll take care of you guys. He walked to the bar and brought out tequila shots. He came back took our order. I explained to him that I was not happy with our experience. He smiled and seemed to brush off my concerns by saying I’ll take care of you. This experience left me disappointed and frustrated. I felt it necessary for me to tell my children to never allow someone to belittle them. I also told my children to stand up for themselves at all time. There’s more that I can say but I’ll leave this review with this.
We deserve respect as others expect to receive it. We work hard to enjoy the moments we intend. We will forever take a stand for our rights and we won’t spend our dollars where we aren’t served well or received by organizations who lack acceptance of all races...
Read moreOur holtel recommended this restaurant to us so we thought it would be a great experience and that was not the case. The restaurant closed at 8pm ans we arrived at 7:20pm. We were rushed to order right away no problem. Our waiter/bartender recommended Steak and Pork Chops are their Specialty!! We quickly ordered along with the Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer that came out with all of our meals! 2 of the 4 meals were good. The Pork Chop and Steak that was ordered medium both came out Rare. We asked to cook the meet longer on the grill. The waiter came back and said the grills are turned of and to cooks are gone. He brought back the steak and pork chop back after cooking them both in the microwave? The meat at that point was rubber and the pork chop was still raw. I was not going to eat a raw Pork Chop! I asked to talk to the manager to discuss ordering something else on the menu. That was not an option because the cooks are gone and the grills are off? The Manager told me he would be happy to remove both dishes off the bill, however, he needed to take both dishes to show the owner of the restaurant in the morning. We agreed to have the 2 $50.00 dished removed from our bill and left the restaurant hungry. I also ordered a Strawberry Mojito that the waiter/bartender made for me that had Old, Rotten, Dried up Mint leaves with big black spots on them. Bartender/waiter says "OH sorry that slipped and l didn't catch that." Needless to say, we had a horrible experience at this Fine Dining Restaurant and Will...
Read moreWe are locals and it was my second time eating here, I had a burger the first time and it was good. It was my wife’s first time eating here and this time I feel like we got totally ripped off. I had the prime rib special, the waitress never told us the price but I just figured for Sedona it would probably be a good prime rib. It was the worst prime rib I have ever gotten, it had no flavor and just tasted like a cheap roast that you put in the crockpot. No bark at all, no seasoning at all which was the worst part and I don’t like mashed potatoes so I ask for double veggie all I got was 10 pieces of asparagus so that was pretty pathetic. I let it go because it’s hit or miss when you get prime rib, sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s just a piece of meat but then come to find out we just paid $46 for this. We could have went to the Tavern in Cottonwood or even Robert’s Roost in Cornville for their prime rib special and pay around $25 and both of those places make a darn good prime rib. I was really disappointed that’s the most I have ever paid for a prime rib and it tasted like nothing. DON’T EVER GET THEIR PRIME RIB what a rip off. I was so mad when I saw the price. The owner should really taste the prime rib and compare his to other restaurants around the area and then see if you can charge $46. What a...
