Waffle House — Restaurant in Sevierville

3/28/21. I am not a person that usually leaves bad reviews as I simply just don’t like doing so but I feel as though this one needs to be said. My fiancé’s family and I stopped at this location for lunch after our long drive in for our annual vacation in Gatlinburg. Our experience was anything but pleasurable. We had a group of 12 people, and we were seated almost immediately. Mind you, they were NOT busy at all. We were the only people in the building except for maybe like 3-4 more people. Anyways, we waited 30+ minutes for our food and half of it was wrong or cold. One order was never even delivered, and when finally attempted to be brought to the table, we were told they were out of gravy, so they tried to bring a dry single biscuit. This was after 10 people in our party had had enough and left the building. I’d like to point out that there were I believe only 2 servers which is pretty typical for a Waffle House but one of them was a new employee and the other one (her name was Kris) was running circles trying to get stuff done and not to mention her constantly apologizing for the inconvenience. Our problem was with the manager on duty. We watched her stand and watch her employees struggle and not do a thing to help them until AFTER we had said something. As we were checking out we tried to express our frustration with the manager and she was extremely rude. The manager was not doing her job while her employees are busting their butts. I do not recommend this place at all. My mother, aunt,and I entered the facility...no greeting. We grabbed a couple menus to see what we wanted to order then proceeded to the "To Go" order sign. We stood there for about 15 minutes while the lady that was in black (manager of the night I suppose, we'll call her Duck Dynasty) spoke to everyone but us. She takes care of a couple that was leaving and then leaves the register while we are still standing there. Still there is no acknowledgement. She comes back to the register area and begins cleaning dishes. Finally 10 minutes later another young lady who sees that Duck Dynasty had no intention of taking our order comes over and asks if we've been helped. She takes our order (which was quite large) and has it prepared. While she was taking our order a gentleman gets in line to pay for his meal. Duck Dynasty pushes the one taking our order out of the way so the gentleman shouldnt have to wait. Had she taken our order initially, he wouldn't have had to wait because we would have been seated waiting for our order. The young lady taking our order did what she could to make sure everything was ok but just as I told her, I'm going to say it here. Racism doesn't pay the bills, customers do. Money isnt black nor white, it's green...no matter where it comes from. I really hate that this was the interaction that brought in my birthday. I sure will never forget Duck Dynasty and will never visit this...

I was very disappointed with my meal. The waitress came over and took our order she was very polite. She took our order for an all star breakfast with triple hash browns the eggs was supposed to be over easy. And add a chocolate chip waffle,then we ordered the Texas cheesesteak plate with double scattered smothered covered and chunked hash browns and a side of over easy eggs. A large grit a two egg(over easy) kid meal with sausage and toast. We had coffee and 1/2 tea1/2 lemonade. Two orders of eggs had to be made again bc they served us fried eggs. The triple hash browns was one scoop of potatoes across the plate and was a very thin layer my double was double what she served him. When we called her attention to it she said they covered the plate. They I showed her mine beside of his and they was literaly only one fork out of them bc he gave it to my daughter. Then the lady brought crayons and paper to my daughter as she had just started eating so that was later than needed to be. No refills we gave. Small cups for 1.90 is crazy for a drink anyways. They did not call the order like they are supposed to. But I have never paid forty dollars to feed 2 adults and a two year old and leave starving to death. I do feel sorry for that manager for having to apologize for the crews mess ups when he came over I told him I knew how hard fast food is.
