I came based on the mix of reviews and what locals had to say in the nearby Family Dollar store. I was told about a few places and this was the closest food location to my motel.
The outside and inside are decorated in a way consistent of the overall theme I saw of businesses up and down the street. It's a good look. The young lady who took my order was friendly and helpful. She let me know my order would take about twenty minutes.
I made my order a "To Go" order, and while waiting at a makeshift bar area a nice lady prepared a glass of water for me. There was a gentleman behind the counter that I made small talk with, and he shared that the business has been open for about 5 years and that the building used to be a real estate office.
The place was cozy, and I saw it had some regulars. The staff seemed nice, but I did notice the owner passed by me several times, she didn’t make eye contact nor did she say a word. I figured that's the person who should be making an attempt to see how a customer is doing. No big deal... I've met and dealt with all types on my 48 state journeys.
I received my order and went back to my hotel.
In conclusion…
For twelve dollars, I've had far better burgers, but you have to evaluate the situation as a whole. I figured that the owner/staff has done reconnaissance of the other restaurants in town. You figure the food that they are serving is what they consider to be a satisfactory end product. It also goes to say that the price point is just what's needed to keep the business viable. So I shrugged off even trying to compare it to something that wasn't even in the same town.
If you are planning on stopping in Shamrock, give them a visit.

Read moreWe stopped in for dinner and enjoyed our meals. The cheesy breadsticks came to the table very hot, and none of us could wait to eat them. It was a thicker than usual dough than I am used to, but it was delicious nonetheless. The wings were moist and cooked to perfection. We had half of the order slathered in the Mango Habanero sauce, and the other half slathered in the Hit Buffalo Sauce. Both sauces tasted good, but neither were at the spice level I was expecting for the spiciest sauces on the menu. We also ordered a Pepperoni Pizza on a hand tossed crust. The sauce was a bit sweet, cheese had a nice creamy flavor and was a good complement to the sauce, and the mild pepperoni had a nice char and crisp. It's a good pizza but a bit mild tasting for my liking. All in all, well worth the visit if you are in the...
Read moreStarted ok but my first clue should have been when the lemonade was in a bottle. Then tried to order a margarita and although the menus says they have 3 flavors and either over ice or frozen no option was given and they come in a can. Waitress was great until friends/family came in. Menu only has a few items and they were out of half of them but didn't say anything until we tried to order. The pizza is terrible. It's obviously a take and bake cheese pizza that they add toppings to and was served raw even though it came out after everything out. To top it all off about halfway in they gave a remote to the table of friends that had come in and they turned on the TV behind my mother in laws head and started blaring music. All in all I would eat at a gas station first. The food tasted like that's where...
