I stop in here about once a month. I think they have great food. But on saturday evening at about 7pm my gf an I stopped in to pick up some food. When we got there no one was there but us. We were not greeted when we walked in an after standing im front the the register for like 10 mins an 3 employees never said a single word to either of us. Even when my gf asked how the ladies day was going she just totally ignored the question. After the 10 mins a black woman walked in an thanked them for having her food ready which they all smiled an thanked her. At that point I realized this was racial an nothing else now we have been there like 15 mins an still no one acknowleged us. Only after I mentioned to go somwhere else did the lady called someone from the back to take our order. Which he did. Now there are like 10 people in the store. Now the one black guy working I think was tring to intimidate me by continue to stare at me like he wanted to fight. Mind you i am a combat vet with a purple heart. The way they treated the customers who walked in was the highest form of disrespect an the only person the 3 workers acknowledged was a black woman. No one else. The gentleman who came from the back waiting an served everyone else. Even when the black worker finished our order he just set it on the counter an never said anything after it sat there for like 5 mins the guy from the back asked if the order was complete he said yes an they called my name. An even after we were leaving this guy continued to stare me down. Lol he should have been a man an said something. Mind you I never said a single word to this guy but mind you this is no way for your employees to treat the people who spend their money at your place of business. I will never come back since you seem to support your employees being racist to...
Read moreAs evidenced by other reviews on this page, and my own, calling out poor service is important. This was my first time here after living here a year, but that's really just because I don't think about having Firehouse. I should because the food is fantastic. The sandwich I bought tonight was delicious.
But that is where the positive feedback ends, and the reason for 2 stars instead of 1.
First, online ordering (and thus, rewards) are advertised everywhere, but they don't take online orders or rewards.
Second, I walked in and was the only person at the counter. All 3 of the ladies working there were moving like slugs and kept looking over at me with apathy and a complete lack of desire to take my order.
One of the ladies drew the short straw and rolled her eyes while wandering over to the register. She stood there, didn't welcome me, ask me what I'd like, nothing. Just silence.
So, I started placing my easy order. A club sub with mustard only on wheat and a combo.
The same person made my sandwich, moving at a snail's pace, hands me my bag, again says nothing.
I leave and go out to my car. It's slathered in mayonnaise and missing the bacon.
I return it, tell her that she put mayonnaise on it and forgot the bacon. She looked at another worker and said "I didn't make it". But...she did.
The other person made it perfectly and, again, it was delicious.
I know that hiring is a dicey situation now and getting quality candidates is likely almost impossible in Sherman, but as many other reviews say the same thing, slow, rude service, means that this place isn't likely to be here much longer if the owner continues to ignore it.
I'll eat Firehouse again, but not here. This just wasn't worth the...
Read moreA bizarre experience compared to how good other locations are. Ordered though the app and requested some of the sauce packets offered on it. Walked into the store at 6:50 which was when the system you me it would be ready(20 minutes from when I ordered). One of the toasters was filling dining room with smell of burning bread Man behind the counter proceeds to continue an unnecessarily long conversation with a guy who already had his order before finally addressing me at 6:52 and then BEGINNING an order I placed 20 minutes ago. After 4 more customers come in and the first guy mentions the other employees being outside and that one of them is the owner's daughter, 3 other workers finally enter through the back of the building with very awkward dealmeanor and avoiding eye contact with everyone. Shifty behavior continues as one girl finally places my order on the counter and waits until I'm pulling food out of bag looking for everything to offer the Sriracha requested in the order, without me even saying anything. Another lady tells me she put the other sauce ON one of the sandwiches because "it doesn't show on their screen it's supposed to be individual packets" no one can explain why this logic was exclusive to one sauce and not the other, which my wife did not want all over HER sandwich her pastrami was also an overly-fatty overcooked cut of meat. Pretty sure most of this staff was chemically impaired from whatever they were doing behind the building. No one was overtly rude, just all with no understanding of communication or service, or common sense. I'll go to Jimmy John's...
