Visited the new Popeyes in Sierra Vista, and wow… where to start? The experience was a mess from the moment I stepped in. I placed a mobile order and waited an additional 30 minutes to ensure the food would be ready. Even then, they only started preparing it once I arrived and "checked in." It took an hour and a half in total to get my order—despite the intention of streamlining the process with mobile orders.
Astonishingly, there was almost no system in place. The training seemed nonexistent, and it felt like only one person out of the entire crew knew what they were doing. A woman named Mika deserves special recognition—she was the sole reason any semblance of order existed. Mika was juggling everything, assisting everyone, and showing remarkable patience, composure, and kindness amidst absolute chaos. Despite being clearly stretched thin, she kept her customer service top-notch and turned numerous angry customers into understanding ones. Mika is the one bright spot in an otherwise disastrous experience.
The health code violations were honestly shocking. A woman in the kitchen was working with no hairnet, and I actually witnessed hair falling into food. Employees were also using the same tongs to grab everything from receipts to bags, then immediately handling food without any sanitization in between. Another team member didn’t hesitate to serve a drink mix she openly admitted wasn’t prepared correctly. The lack of professionalism and basic cleanliness made me lose all confidence in the food's safety.
While I understand they just opened, the issues here go far beyond “opening week adjustments.” The extreme health code violations, disrespect, lengthy waits, and lack of training are major red flags. Thank goodness for Mika, whose hard work and genuine care saved the experience from being a total loss. If management is smart, they’ll recognize her as an invaluable asset and invest in better training and standards for the rest...
Read moreSlowest service I've seen in fast food. Everyone here always seems so discombobulated. They are always out of something no matter the time of day and mobile orders are never ready to go. Nobody has any pep in their step, lolly-gagging around without a care in the world. Very poor management at this restaurant. Gave them the benefit of doubt when they first opened but service has not improved whatsoever even though they are less busy. Employees are very nice but you can tell they are very poorly managed and set up to fail constantly.
Update: 2 Weeks later and twice as slow. Absolutely awfully slow service. Everyone in here has " Flash" from Zootopia level speed. So so so so so slow. No hustle whatsoever and zero respect for your time. Someone i. Management needs to find a fast button for these employees. Come on guys, I know you can do better.
Update: 2 weeks later again
So so so so much worse. Walked in, not one customer had food, one door dash driver said she was waiting 42 minutes!!!! Zero respect for anybody else working. Multiple people waiting for orders and they were not busy at all. Didn't even have a single car in the drive thru. Owner must not care at all. Serious clown show here seriously. Never experienced a more disorganized, slow, disrespectful restaurant. Wish I could give them negative 100 stars!...
Read moreThis Popeyes is a disgrace. How are you always out of half the menu? No chicken, no sides, no pies—what exactly do you serve here besides disappointment? I once waited OVER AN HOUR for one apple pie. Not a meal, not a family combo—just a single pie. That’s straight-up embarrassing.
The staff moves like they’re underwater and couldn’t care less if you’re waiting forever. Zero urgency, zero communication, zero accountability. I don’t know if management is non-existent or just completely useless, but this place runs like it’s held together with duct tape and vibes.
What makes it worse is I’ve seen DoorDashers—who are literally on a timer—stuck waiting almost an hour just to pick up an order. I’ve even done DoorDash for this location myself and had to wait over 40 minutes. It’s not just frustrating—it’s infuriating and completely unprofessional.
Everyone who’s ever been forced to waste their time at this location deserves some sort of compensation. At this point, it feels like a punishment just to walk through the door.
Avoid this trainwreck of a restaurant unless you enjoy being ignored, disrespected, and leaving...
