Stogeez Cigar Lounge — Restaurant in Sioux Falls Township

Terrible experience and very rude staff. I DO NOT recommend this place.

I'm a cigar lover, and as such, had developed a habit of stopping in for a drink and a cigar nearly every other night over the course of the summer. I usually bring along a cigar with me, as I buy in bulk from Eastwold (their connected cigar shop) during daytime business hours (I live only a block away so it's very easy to stop in). However on this occasion, rather than welcoming me, the first thing out of the bartender's mouth was, "Did you buy that cigar here? I've never once seen you buy a cigar here. You can't smoke that."

This happened to be one of the few times I brought an "outside cigar" -- a limited edition cigar that a coworker gave me as a gift. I was honest with him that it was not from their humidor, but assured him that I buy from them all the time (in fact I bought over $100 worth of cigars from Eastwold just in the last month, and had even bought a bar cigar FROM THAT BARTENDER a couple weeks ago!). But the bartender clearly didn't believe me, and said, "This is the last time you get to do this." All while MY credit card is in his hand...

Are you kidding me Stogeez? This is how you treat a loyal customer?? Especially a customer who gives you weekly business and always tips on every check (and yes I still tipped him after he said this to me). I'm not asking for a free pass on house-policy, but to be spoken to so rudely is unacceptable. It would be so incredibly easy to create a nightly customer out of me! I LIVE LESS THAN ONE BLOCK AWAY. What a horrible experience. I didn't even end up smoking my stick because I couldn't believe they would treat someone like that. I quickly finished my single drink and left.

No bar who treats their "regulars" like this, deserves to have regulars. My buddies and I were even planning on having a "Two-Beer-Tuesday" tradition there every week... but certainly not anymore! That is absolutely the last dime I will ever spend at Stogeez AND Eastwold. You have officially lost...

Terrible experience! The owner was extremely rude and unprofessional to our group. He then proceeded to start a fight with us. He grabbed me and threw my girlfriend on the ground! Ownership that does not treat customers with respect and abusive towards woman is unacceptable. The police were involved and asked if we would like to press charges. We have not made that decision at this time. There was no citation issued to us. A no trespassing agreement was reached to not be on the property for 6 months. We would never go back while under the same ownership. This happened at 1:30 am on 04/07/2019 if you would like to review the police report.

This is THE spot. Of all the places we go for dates, this is our go-to. When we have Saturday dates, we always plan on going to Stogeez. The atmosphere is mellow, inviting, and relaxing. Extra large, soft leather chairs, a wonderful whiskey selection, cigar shop attached, great air filtration, and a wine bar on the other side. The bartenders remember us by name and out usuals (not sure if that’s a good thing for them or a bad thing for us 😂) I wholly suggest everyone go at least once.
