If I could put 0 stars i would, unfortunately I can't, so one star it is. This establishment has very unprofessional employees. I walked in ready to order, speaking English, however the cashier tried to switch to Spanish mid order, I continued in English and again she tried to switch to Spanish while I'm still presenting in English. I over looked that as it seemed as though my order was placed, however I did not receive what I ordered. I went back to ask for my correct order, then 2 other ladies step out to see the issue. The cashier goes onto tell them in Spanish that I first ordered something then changed my mind to something else and that now im saying I asked for something else. Trying to say I was trying to get something for free. I was very clear while ordering to avoid issues. So as the cashier is saying lies for the 3rd time as the other 2 ladies struggled to see the issue, I interviene then speaking Spanish so they can understand properly since it was now apparent to me they were not going to understand my English for as clear as I was being. The owner then heads back to the kitchen while the 3rd lady gets my order fixed. However in doing so since they had given me the wrong churros with a sauce on top which I did not order; she insistes on the other customers inside taking them almost throwing them at my shoulder. Though they did eventually give me what I ordered it was a complete hassle and staff was rude and even got bothered I asked for my receipt printed. I will not be coming back here and definitely will be telling people to avoid this place! And the churros are frozen...
Read moreIâm prefacing this by saying that Iâm not a picky eater and I speak Spanish. With that said, this place is an empanada/Venezuelan food restaurant first, and a churrerĂa second. Which sucks because itâs named Sweet Churros. âą Service seems to depend almost fully on what language you approach the cashier on. The lady who took my order was pretty sweet, but Iâm pretty sure she doesnât speak English, making ordering difficult, and prone to mistakes from their part. âą The ambiance is serviceable, if not a bit sad. Itâs stuffy, and lacks care, but suffices. âą The wait for the food is surprisingly long for some churros and empanadas, as we had to wait a total of 12 minutes to receive the churros specifically. âą The food itself is a mixed bag. If youâre heading to Sweet Churros for the churros, youâll be disappointed, as the churros felt.. undercooked? They definitely felt off, cheap, not worthy of naming the business after them. Wouldnât recommend them. The empanadas, on the other hand were really good. Simple junky cheesy goodness. Not that hard to mess up. The shakes were also pretty good. No complaints there. âą The pricing is fair on everything except the churros, as no price below 2 bucks would justify even the consideration of purchasing them. I cannot stress enough how ironic it is that the churros at Sweet Churros are the worst part of the restaurant.
Overall, wouldnât recommend if youâre craving churros. If you want to try out some junky Venezuelan cuisine, on the other hand, Iâd definitely recommend...
Read moreSummary: They donât put Cinnamon and Sugar on their churros. I would avoid eating in at this establishment, they are not very friendly
My girlfriend and I walked past this shop and thought weâd give it a try since it looked inviting. The place was very empty when we walked in, even the counter that had the display cases for food were empty. I asked the lady at the counter âhow long would it take for some churros?â She snapped with â5 minutesâ and had a very mean look on her face. I responded with âIâm sorry, I havenât been here beforeâ She proceeded to roll her eyes numerous times as I was trying to figure out the menu. We then sat down and waited for our food. Once the lady handed my girlfriend the food and as she was turning around the ladies behind the counter gave her the worst look up and down her body.
We immediately left and decided to try the churros since that would be the saving grace of the experience and they are nothing special. There was nothing sweet about the Churro besides the Dulce De Lece surprisingly smothered on top.
We paid for 6 Pieces of frozen churro bread smothered in sauce and 2 drinks. The churros were hard and smothered in a lot of their dulce de luce. The canned drinks are very overpriced on top of the overcooked smothered churros and judgement makes this restaurant not worth a future visit. I would recommend others try to avoid...
