Our server Ann was fantastic. But the rest was incredibly disappointing. The igloo was not ready at our reservation time, the inside was pretty full of condensation so water was running off the inside and into the food, making it soggy, and the power went out in the igloo so the heater and string lights went out. The food that came out was not what was on the menu when we made the reservation. We were understanding about all of it until the general manager Arturo came out, super defensive, making excuses, and making things up to try to play it off. For example, the menu said dessert shooters which we were excited for. What came out was plain cheesecake with fruit. Arturo tried to tell us that the chef wanted to “make it more special” for us. I cut him off when he started going down that road. We weren’t upset to begin with but he made an already underwhelming experience super frustrating and almost insulting. No need to lie, you know? We made the reservation on Jan 4th and it’s Valentine’s Day, Feb 14th. You had more than enough time to have everything ready or make us aware the menu would not be what we were expecting.
Ann was fantastic through the whole experience. She did everything she could to make the moment right for us, in spite of a manager that did not have the same priority. They took $75 off a $275 bill and comped our drinks. And had it not been for Arturo’s terrible attitude that would have been more...
Read moreThe Host and waitress were wonderful. The food though was below subway par. I got the Napolean which is the Fillet with Lobster and and Hollandaise sauce on it. Should have been bursting with flavor but had none. My filled was overcooked and I normally do not complain but it is a small fillet and costs $75 so I sent it back. I overheard the manager saying that I was just being difficult and that the steak was perfect. Outsides were well done and inside was medium I had asked for medium rare. They gave me a new steak and I appreciated it. My wife's seabass was the worst I have ever tasted it was undercooked and had no flavor at all. The scallops were the same way slightly undercooked and no flavor. Only thing good was the French onion that had really good flavor actually. Asparagus also was plain and un seasoned but was cooked well. I forgot to mention that the whole Napolean was blah and had no flavor im not sure how you even make a hollandaise sauce tasteless but they managed. Overall the staff prevented me from giving this 1 star and is the only thing this restaurant has going for it from what I see. Manager is unprofessional for acting the way he did and they need a new cook for sure. Save your money and go to McDonald's your food will...
Read moreI hadn't been back to Tahoe since Margaritaville was the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel and I was blown away by the renovations made to the entire hotel! The restaurant was lovely and the staff was all super friendly and helpful (highly recommend you stop by the bar and grab some drinks from Ann- she is the best!). The food is pricy but also very tasty- to be fair no one in my party got the super expensive steaks so I can't say anything to those but all the mains we ordered were delicious.
We started with the fried oysters- I definitely recommend these, they were hot, crispy, and tender with maybe more creamed spinach than necessary but the extra was great with the complementary olive bread. For mains we got the Veal Osso Buco- tender and the polenta was on point, the Veal Ragout Pappardelle- tasty and a large portion, and the Ora King Salmon- perfectly cooked, amazing with the miso broth, and the mushrooms and bok Choy were tender and flavorful.
The mixed drinks were a bit more expensive than I'm used to, $19 for most, but they were good!
Overall a nice option for a special meal but not your every day...
