My husband and I both enjoyed late morning classic breakfast crepes with bacon at this restaurant. The place was packed when we arrived about 10:45AM and were told it would be about 20 minutes for our food. Two people working in tandem to fulfill orders. A sign said they were using paper plates because they were short-staffed. However, our food did arrive on "real" plates; however, our juices were in paper cups. No big deal to us. The staff worked hard as we watched them from our vantage point. A customer stopped to talk with the female chef and it obviously threw her rhythm/timing off, but she took the time to visit with this grateful customer. The crowd thinned after awhile and the two employees immediately went into clean up and freshen up mode, wiping down the crepe machines; changing out dish bins and washing the plates, replenishing the food containers, etc. One customer said, "Delicious! You are always the first place we visit when we come to Tahoe." Our crepes were perfectly cooked and tasted so yummy. I can see how this establishment has repeat business. Even in this time when there is such a short supply of restaurant employees, these two made us feel welcomed, and served up top-notch crepes. Wish we had room (in our tummys) for something sweet there! Will be back.

Sat down to a dirty outdoor table, but that's wasn't a problem. We had wet wipes and got it sparkling clean. Ordered a couple savory and sweet crepes. Both had the thickness of McDonald's pancakes and didn't resemble anything you would see in France. Again, no big deal as it would tide us over until dinner. As we were finishing our crepes a couple members of our group brought over ice cream sandwiches from the business next door. Immediately one of the employees came out and rudely demanded we had to leave saying ice cream is not allowed at the tables. It wasn't necessarily the request but how it felt like he was angrily yelling at us, as paying customers. We hadn't spilled any of the ice cream and again the tables were cleaner than when we had got there. Too many quality options around here for us to consider ever coming back.. byeeee!

I recently visited Creative Crepes in South Lake Tahoe and was blown away by the experience. I ordered the Florentine crepe and added some extra fixings—let me tell you, it was absolutely superb! The balance of flavors was perfect, and the ingredients tasted so fresh. My fiancé went with the popular banana crepe, and it was to die for! The sweetness of the banana paired with the perfect crepe texture made it a heavenly bite every time. There is plenty of outside seating available on the second floor where they’re located and the weather is gorgeous. Super comfy, so delicious, and extra sweet. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere had a relaxed, cozy vibe, making it an all-around fantastic experience. If you’re in the area and craving something delicious, Creative Crepes is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back for more!

Sunday, 5/28/2023 - We were craving for some crepes. So decided to eat at Creative Crepes in South Lake Tahoe. Address is 4118 Lake Tahoe Blvd, Ste 7, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. This little business is about 600sq feet. Rough estimate. It's located on the strip on the 2nd floor. Upon arrival:

Pros

  1. small little restaurant, but spacious.
  2. staffs were very nice and helpful. They had a lot of patience with us since a few of us didn't know what we wanted.
  3. menu was right behind the counter. Plenty of crepes to pick from.
  4. the strawberry nutella crepe and the strawberry banana crepe were very good. The dog pile crepe was a little too peanut buttery. The strawberry shortcake was dry.
  5. glad they had water where you can get it yourself. Water tasted good. No funky or metal taste.
  6. there's 7ish tables to sit inside and a few to sit on the balcony to view the street and outside view.
  7. it didn't take long for us to get our crepes once we ordered.
  8. you grab your own utensils and condiments. It's located on the counter.

Cons

  1. We sat on a table. It wasn't clean. I just used water and the napkins on the table to clean it.
  2. as I mentioned above, the dog pile crepe was a little too peanut buttery. It was thick and sticky in the mouth. Not sure how to describe it. Needed water to wash it down. The strawberry shortcake was on the dry side.

Conclusion With the few "cons" of this restaurant, we all liked it. Staffs were friendly. Easy to get water. Crepes were good. Well, some of our crepes were good. Glad it was mine. 😆 Roomy. Large tables to accommodate larger groups. We had a good experience. Try if you...

I recently discovered this charming place while in Tahoe for a Phish concert, and was so excited to find a crepe place right by Harrah's where we were staying. This place is a 1-2 minute walk from the casinos, and SO worth it (and hey, WAY better quality food)! I love crepes but it's hard to find real quality ones. (I live in Sacramento, a foodie town, and we have a few crepe spots, Danielle's being the best).

Well I was inpressed enough with Creative Crepes that I felt compelled to write a glowing review. I ordered a savory crepe with ham and Swiss cheese (and despite what another reviewer said, my savory crepe wasn't sweet. They get their Sweet and Savory right here) and it was perfect ... super delicious, fresh, crispy and soft, and at the price it's probably the best breakfast and lunch value in the region (Tahoe can be hela pricey).

The other reason I feel compelled to post a review is that this business has suffered so many odd bad reviews, and by that I mean someone posted a 1 star review because the place wasn't open when they went there - c'mon.

I met the owner and found her to be very conscientious, kind, and passionate about her craft. She also genuinely cares ... I saw she has warmly replied to several unhappy yelp reviews. I'm a business owner and I can attest that those are hard to write, so I give her credit for being engaged in that.

Anyway, thanks for reading this rambling post, I feel I just needed to straighten out a few things, leave my feedback, and promote a better level of...
