It sucks other people had bad experiences because my husband and I had a GREAT time here! We walked in at 6pm on a Friday on Jan 19th. We were greated fast and warmly and seated immediately. Even asked if we wanted high or low top. Our server (I believe her name was Veni?) was SO sweet and attentive. She even got sat a table of like 30+ people who were not all necessarily that nicest or easiest to wait on (they unfortunately got sat right next to us so we know) and she had the table all by herself and even with that she never lost track of us. We asked for a second round of drinks bc we didn't want to wait forever if our order got put in behind the big party and sure enough she got them to us very quickly. She would check in with us (which is all we ask especially when we can tell a server is busy.) Now to the good stuff... if you've read about this place you probably already know it has 500 whiskeys... so if you're a whiskey fan it's a must! I ordered the Rubicon sour (whiskey sour with cherry syrup and bitters I believe) and it was made proper with the egg white and was delicious! My husband ordered the house old fashioned and Manhattan and both were very well made drinks also! I wanted to try the house brewed beers but just too many good things to choose from. For dinner I had the bacon jam burger with a few personal changes and my husband had the BBQ burger I think it was called. One got fries and other onion rings... EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS!!!! It's American bar food but REALLY good! And, I believe some reviews complained about prices but I actually was shocked at our tab. It was only $114 for 4 drinks and 2 meals, both with add on upgrade charges. Considering the quality of it all and the location, I think that's a steal personally. In fact, we enjoyed it so much I'm sure we'll go back again before we leave town rather than try someplace new and potentially be...
Read moreMy family and I visited State Line Brewery and Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe, and unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with the service we received. Firstly, when one of our party members asked an employee for directions to the restroom, we were taken aback by their response. Instead of providing a simple direction, the employee asked us to wait, which seemed unnecessary and somewhat rude.
Furthermore, we were informed that there would be a 30-35 minute wait for a table of six. However, we ended up waiting for an hour fifteen before speaking with the hostess by the name Elaine. To our surprise, we noticed that people who arrived after us were being seated, causing frustration and confusion. When I finally decided to inquire about the delay and requested to speak with a manager I was met with an unsatisfactory explanation. The manager by the name Kevin, claimed that their computer had experienced technical difficulties and had sent a text message to notify us of our seating, which was never received and table passed down to the next party!
Regrettably, the manager's response was far from satisfactory. They immediately adopted an attitude and told me that there was nothing they could do, leaving me with no choice but to continue waiting for the next available table. This lack of accountability and disregard for customer satisfaction was disheartening and left a negative impression on our overall experience and decided to walk away.
In conclusion, our visit to State Line Restaurant Brewery was marred by subpar service and a lack of transparency. It is my hope that the management addresses these issues promptly to ensure that future guests receive the level of service they deserve. Will never go back to...
Read moreI wish I could review the food here but I wasn’t given the opportunity to eat here. The hostess staff is extremely rude and essentially wouldn’t let me sit as a single person.
I was in town alone and arrived around 7:30 on Friday night and it looked busy but only a few people waiting. I asked how long the wait was for a table for 1 and was told by the hostess that I should check out the bar area as it was open seating. I checked out the bar area but it was packed and really raucous. I wanted to sit for some beers and a steak, not be in a mosh pit. I asked another hostess what the table situation was and she told me that they “don’t really sit parties of 1 in the dining room and I should just sit in the bar.” When I told her the bar was full which is why I was talking to her she then told me it would be a really long wait for a table for just 1 person. I asked if there was a problem with 1 person sitting at a table and she rudely told me that it is possible but since I was a party of 1, it would take extra long. She then walked me back over to the original hostess. I told her the bar was full and she looked at me and I kid you not, rolled her eyes, tossed the seating iPad to her coworker and told her to “deal with me.” She put me on the list, reiterated that it would be a LOOOOOOONG wait for “just one person” and walked away.
Basically you can only go to this restaurant if you’re with other people because it’s a waste of the staff time to deal with one person in the seating area. I felt like they shamed me multiple time for trying to eat dinner alone. I left and ate elsewhere. The food did look good but I’ll never know because I will not...
