For the $12 we paid for my 11 year old it was worth it, but for the $25 each we paid for my teenagers, my husband and I, it wasn't worth it. Since there are no dinner prices on the "allmenus", just a $7.95 lunch price, we had no idea that it was so expensive. I guess I should have read the reviews, but my daughter went to the one in Boston and really wanted us to try it. I called at 10:30am to make a reservation, but no one answered, So my daughter and I stopped by the Marriott Timber Lodge at 11:45am to make a dinner reservation. Jim, the concierge at the Timber Lodge, met us at the door and asked us what we we're doing. I told home, we were gong upstairs to make a reservation at Fire and Ice. He said they don't accept reservations and told me to just show up when I show up. We returned at 4:55pm and were told by the hostess that it would be a 40-45 minute wait. We came back in 40 minutes and she told us that they had 2-top tables, but still no 5-top tables. We waited in the Timber Lodge lobby. At one hour and five minutes, I checked back. The hostess told me, "Oh honey, we've tried to call you several times." So my husband called my cell phone and the call went right through. We waited and she asked us to move to the hallway. Just then a gentleman walked up and she pulled out a reservation book for him to make a reservation for the next day. I said, "The concierge told me that you don't make reservations." The hostess said, "oh, yes, we do." Since we had now been waiting almost an hour and fifteen minutes for a table, I went to the Timber Lodge lobby and told the concierge that Fire and Ice does make reservations. He replied that he had not received any email or any communication that they do. I let him know that we had come by earlier to make a reservation, but he had stopped us and told us that they do not make reservations and that we had been waiting for a table for over an hour. As I got about 20 feet away, I heard him rather loudly say, "Fire and Ice is saying they take reservations and that lady just bed me out!!!!" I turned around and asked him what he had just said. I explained that his language was inappropriate and if I wanted to "b*" him out, he would certainly know it. I let the hostess at Fire and Ice know and I spoke to the manager. Read moreMy girlfriend and I picked this restaurant because of how highly it was rated on Google and it sounding like a fun experience. We checked the website and decided to go for lunch. We drove from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe to eat here. When we arrived and were seated it was before 3pm but were told because it was 3pm we would have to pay the dinner price. I opened my phone and showed the hostess that it was not yet 3pm and their website stated that lunch price was until 3pm. The waitress then came over and said that we would have to stop getting food by 3pm for us to get the lunch price. I told her to give my time to think about if I wanted to pay the difference. She came back with menus just a few minutes later stating that if we didn't get any seafood or sirloin steak we could get the lunch price due to the weird timing. We were ok with this option, ordered our drinks and got up to go get our food. When we got to the station to pick what you wanted there were no bowls. We waited with another couple who asked the kitchen staff for bowls. When the gentlemen brought the bowls out from the kitchen, he split the stack in half and looked at the bowl on the bottom of one of the stacks. My girlfriend and I were also able to see the bottom bowl and it was still dirty with greens of some kind in it. Im assumimg since he looked at the bowl he also saw it was dirty but proceeded to put the stack down for cutomers to use without taking the dirty bowl or checkinf the others he had brought out. I had already sanitized my hands and put on gloves so I started checking the bowls and multiple were still dirty with either greens or sauce in or on the outside of the bowls. Looking around at the food selections, the pasta station was dirty with noodles all over the station, the meat options were full of meat juice and not properly covered to maintain a safe temperature, the sauce station was also dirty with different sauces spilled on the counter top and most the options were empty. I do understand it was a transition time but the options they had out looked like they had been sitting out most if not all day. Read moreWe were waiting in line to set a time when another person came and cut in line and the manager well that's what she said she was said that the person was Already in line. They took our name down and we proceeded to wait close to an hour. We received a text to be seated and was seated and then the manager who also said she was the Owner said she was refusing service to us that, that's her right to do but a very poor way to do so cause if that's the case then why take our mane make us wait and then seat us to un seat us infront of a full restaurant. I have been in retail on the food side for over 25 years and it's hard to believe someone like that running any business that deals with customer service as this may be the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant in Tahoe and we eat at all the fine restaurants in town. If she isn't the owner I would assume the owner or corporate office will take Action.

Thanks for replying, but the language only happened after you forced us out claiming to be the owner but obviously from your reply that too was a lie, then letting us put a reservation in and then while being seated you rushed over and unseated my wife and kids making the scene not us and after reading your latest reviews it makes perfect sense that your service is the way it is. Also I don't take kindly to people pushing into my wife and as a owner there is such a better way to handle things. Your customer service reflects your recent reviews and you should find new management that actually knows how to deal with it's customers and doesn't lie or put hands on its customers.
Also i didn't say anything rude to you staff or manager until your manager acted the way she did and it was on the way out. Sorry to say this but if you think your manager was in the right maybe the problem is with you setting low...
