We had a gift certificate to use here so when we saw there was one in Lake Tahoe we decided to stop in. We do not have any close to where we live so we wanted to finally use it. While we were there two things were wrong with our order. The manager didn’t even come to check in on us afterwards. When we went to check out and use our gift certificate our sweet waitress didn’t know how to redeem the gift card so she went and asked the manager. The manager then told the server “they should’ve read the fine print. It says participating Margaritaville and Land-shark locations and we aren’t one of them.” We asked to speak with him (his name is Luis) and he came out and was so mean and nasty. He said “it’s your fault for not presenting this to us when you arrived”. Nowhere does it say on the gift certificate “present this upon arrival”. We explained that we only went here because we have none near us and we spent as much as we could to use up the $80 because we knew we wouldn’t be able to use it anytime soon (again, we don’t have any locations near us) He said “there’s nothing I can do for you. It’s your fault for not asking us” I have been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and I never in all of my years of working have seen a manager treat customers this way. Disrespectful, unprofessional, and unwilling to help. He wouldn’t even discount us for the mistakes that were wrong with our order. Made us pay the full amount. I’m appalled and unsure of how he even landed a management position if this is how he deals...
Read moreIf you’re cruising through South Lake Tahoe and hungry for something fresh with a splash of vacation vibes, Landshark Bar & Grill just might be your new go-to. Located right on the bustling strip, this spot delivers the perfect summer patio scene—think twinkling string lights under big yellow umbrellas, a soundtrack of laughter, and just enough people-watching to keep things interesting. The staff kept things flowing with casual, friendly service that made me feel right at home, even on a busy night.
But let’s get to the real star: the Mahi Mahi fish tacos. As someone who’s always skeptical about fish tacos (especially inland), these were an absolute winner. The Mahi Mahi came out hot and flaky, piled onto a soft flour tortilla—not a corn tortilla, which is a bold choice and worked here. The taco was loaded with crisp cabbage slaw, tangy pico de gallo, a creamy yet zesty sauce, and plenty of fresh cilantro and jalapeño for a little kick. What really set it off was the way everything played together: super fresh fish, crunchy veggies, brightness from the lime, and just the right hit of spice.
Portion-wise, the tacos were generous without going overboard—enough to satisfy without inducing a food coma. Prices are what you’d expect for a prime Tahoe location, so don’t come expecting a steal, but the quality backs it up. Overall, Landshark nailed that laid-back, escape-the-routine feeling, and their fish tacos are absolutely worth a repeat visit the next time...
Read moreWe dropped into LandShark Bar & Grill during our Lake Tahoe getaway, and it was such a fun and tasty experience! The buffalo shrimp totally blew us away—it was bursting with bold, spicy flavor and cooked perfectly. It’s a must-try if you’re here!
My family gave the Philly cheese sub a shot, and while opinions were a bit split, it was still good overall. The real stars of the table were the hot wings—crispy, juicy, and absolutely delicious. Plus, the fries were fantastic, super crispy and full of flavor, and the blue cheese dip was rich and tangy, the perfect partner for those spicy wings.
A huge shoutout to Amber, our server, who was simply amazing! She was upbeat, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. Her friendly vibe definitely made our visit even better.
One thing to note is that they do add a gratuity charge and a tourism tax to the bill, so just be prepared for that when you’re tallying up your meal.
The atmosphere at LandShark is lively and full of energy, yet still relaxed enough for a family meal. We’re already talking about coming back on our next Lake Tahoe trip—can’t wait to dive into more of...
