I want to preface this review with a mention that I have being going to Leo's for a long time now.
The food can be a bit inconsistent but on a good day, it's fantastic. The marination on the meat, the taste of the side dishes, the portion size and etc are excellent.
The only problem with this place is the service. I want to mention that the younger folks at this place are great though, very fast and diligent in what they do. I would say that the majority of the service problems from from the two older ladies working at the front (i.e the register and or serving the food). They can often be rude and easily agitated which is sometimes stemmed from language barriers or etc. Once I witnessed one of them get angry because a customer kept pointing at a dish and asking what type of food it was and when the reply of "meat" was insufficient, they would get angry and act a little rude.
Once during rush hour with the lines wrapping around the back of the restaurant, I'm not sure what was going but I witnessed the two ladies just walk back and forth chatting while the poor younger worker made 8+ orders while also ringing them up.
Unfortunately it seems that it is a common theme to receive poor service from the older folks. I have seen multiple reviews across this restaurant on google mentioning this but it doesn't seem that the owner wants to...
Read moreI just wanted to give a quick shout out to Leo’s Barbecue for today’s lunch. I went in to try the BBQ, but saw the Tocino. My Dad LOVED making Tocino, and the last time I had it must have been 2-3 years ago before Dad passed. So when they were prepping my To-Go container I already started tearing up. I got home and began biting into Leo’s Tocino and it reminded me so much of Macario’s, my Dad. It was like that moment in Disney’s Ratatouille when the food critic takes a bite and is transported back to his Mom’s kitchen. I couldn’t hold back the tears at that point, and I was flooded with the images and aromas of Dad in the kitchen, marinating and cooking his Tocino to perfection. He would finish cooking and then be on the phone calling his friends and family seeing who he could drop his labor of love off too. I remember how the kitchen smelled and of corse, how sweet and savory the Tocino tasted. This was my first time coming to Leo’s but I just hope they see this as I just wanted to say; Thank you for the work your team and family go through to make these Filipino dishes that are so well made, they remind me of my heritage and of those like my Dad who brought their traditions and recipes to America with them. There is a lot of love share in the making of our cultures food and I hope you are all proud of...
Read moreCame here a few days ago because I heard it’s pretty good. Some items aren’t bad, and some weren’t that pleasant in my mouth. Not a place where you can dine in and so they told me to sit outside where there’s some benches. Not the most ideal situation when it’s mid 90s outside. Also, not too friendly of staff. Will I come back? Probably not. —————————————————————————— Hello Owner. I see you had responded on my original message. I would like for you to know, I came there a few days ago, not today. And yes, today’s weather isn’t too bad low 80s, a few days ago however was extremely hot, highly 90s.
Also, after purchasing my meals, I asked if I can sit in the back where there are a couple chairs and a table. The lady in front told me, I can not and to sit outside if I want.
If you’re telling me now that I could’ve, why did the lady say I couldn’t when I asked her?
Thank you...
