I went there last night on my way home. First, it's a pain to get to and I almost missed the entrance due to lack of proper lighting in the parking lot/entrance area. At the order window, I cannot hear the guy taking my order and ask him several times to speak up. My radio is off and my vehicle is quiet. There is a lot of traffic noise. I get up to the window and the guy tells me to just leave my truck and he'll give me the food. Ummm, yeah that's a hard no Buddy. He asks again, laughing, then tells me he's asked other people and they told him to buzz off. He's an older gentleman missing a few informal gnashers. I told him again, not happening. Pull up to the next window. I sit there for a good five minutes watching a skinny jean clad kid wondering around aimlessly. I can see the dining room is deserted. I do suppose that should have been my first clue, the utter lack of other diners. The kid finally pours some drinks and walks away again. Another minute goes by. (Yes, only another minute but those things are eternal when you've been on the road all day, you've got a grumpy teenager in the backseat with the wet dog and your co-pilot is giving these guys the stink eye.) I see a taller, older man walk by, that due to his oversized, untucked, button up shirt, gives the distinct impression of an umpa-loompa. Yep. Still no drinks, not even a hi, sorry about the wait. The kid finally squeezes an unholy amount of strawberry sauce into a cup and makes my strawberry lemonade (it was sickly sweet). We finally, at 9 minutes get our drinks. There is surprisingly, only one car behind us in the drive through and no one in the dining room. Another 3 minutes and we get our food. Two baconater meals and a bbq cheeseburger meal. Only one of those was supposed to be a special order, plain with only ketchup. It wasn't. I didn't touch the fries, drank not even half of the syrup drink and my burger tasted gamey. I didn't think anything of it. Until four hours later, I was in horrible pain, burning up and puking my guts out. No, I was not sick prior to this and I cannot remember the last time I've vomited. Overall a bad experience and I strongly recommend avoiding the Wendy's in the South Portland Mall area...

There is one older lady with short brown hair who was sweet recently but that is the only nice encounter I have had with an employee at this Wendy’s. Manager shuts the lights off early (9-10pm) so people think they are closed. Many huge sneezes right in the kitchen that were not covered as my food was being packaged which is so unacceptable in food service. Wait times are 25-30 min or longer for one or two items. This causes the extremely long lines not the fact that there are a “lot” of customers. When I actually decide I want Wendy’s enough to wait longer than a restaurant meal the food always sucks here. It doesn’t even taste like it comes from the same company as other Wendy’s food does. This is the worst location I’ve ever been to. This is not a problem I have with Wendy’s as a whole it is my favorite fast food. This is just a problem I have with this location. Management needs to be fired. Staff acts annoyed when you try to order after waiting many minutes to even get to the order window. This is not a short staffing issue there are usually so many staff that they are tripping over each other. 5-10 employees when it is not even busy. It just sucks to waste so much money on food that sucks. I wouldn’t dare going back to ask for them to fix it though! Never going back to this location. I might be able to justify it if the staff wasn’t made up of the rudest most impatient and lazy people I have ever seen in fast food. I guess I’ll wait to eat Wendy’s until my...
Read moreI just went through the drive through with my sister a few minutes after they opened. I was met with an unnecessary tone and hostile attitude by Lillian (the name I got from the receipt). When I pulled up she asked me to hold for a minute and I gladly said, “no problem” Then when she returned I asked whats the most amount of nuggets that come in an order. She said 10 and then I turned to my sister and asked her how many we should get since we were ordering for the two of us and our brothers too. I told her 3 orders of 10 nuggets, 2 spicy and 1 regular. On the monitor I only saw two orders but I used to work at a drive through I know that sometimes it can take a minute to enter everything in and they’ll have it by the time you go to the window. When I pulled up to the window I asked her if she had 3 orders of nuggets and she said “no you only said 2.” Thats not a problem I was just confirming but every time she replied she was incredibly rude and kept slamming the door in my face. When she was returning my card I asked for a receipt and she slammed the door again and walked away yelling “now she wants a receipt.” I just don’t understand how an interaction i’ve had hundreds of times, especially since I used to be in the customer service industry, went that way. It’s pretty straightforward ordering and receiving your food. This review is about being kind to people because she has no idea what i’m going through but I never projected that onto her and she shouldn’t have been rude to me when I literally didn’t say or do...
