As I walked into the Chinese restaurant, the aroma of spices hit me. It was as if I had entered a different world. The atmosphere was cozy, with dim lights and traditional decor. I felt like I was about to experience something special.

Wow. I could rant and rave to no end about this place, when recommending local holes in the wall, Mom’s is one of the first words that comes out of my mouth. The food quality is amazing and authentic with an expansive menu all with an impressive variety of flavors. Not only that but one of the main reasons this place has been a person favorite of mine for years is how well the food retains its quality??? Seriously, it’s witchcraft, no other place comes to mind that’s leftovers are 90% as good and retain such rich flavor as the food fresh on your plate. That paired with its excellent value considering its more than generous portion sizes ensures that you often walk out the door not just with one excellent authentic meals but with several more authentic excellent meals for the next couple days. Love this place, would strongly recommend the buns, eggplant, green beans, pork intestine soup (while certainly adventurous for your average Utahn’s reserved taste buds, if you’re brave enough you’ll be greatly rewarded, it’s delicious), Chinese meatballs, twice cooked pork, and popcorn chicken. The service has definitely improved since my last visit here. The servers are more attentive and friendly. Do not underestimate the adamancy of customer service and even the simplest things like refilling refreshments should be acknowledged.

We all know the jest; customer service with Asian restaurants isn't always up to par but Moms really stepped it up! My colleague and I felt waited on and that our business was important. We were frequently followed up with and the staff demonstrated patience with my parties indecisiveness as we doted over their vast menu.

The establishment was clean and I have no complaints. I ordered a bottle of sake which the server happily split so we were able to have both chilled and hot sake when she very well could've stated that they offered no alternatives and I wouldn't have questioned her. The fact that she presented options and was more than willing to accommodate our requests really stood out to me.

This is the kind of service that customers desire but rarely experience so to witness such a positive turnaround with no expectations, it was as if a light was finally turned on. I look forward to coming...
