Visited Casa Salza recently and had a mixed experience, earning it a 3-star rating. The food was decent overall; I particularly enjoyed the sweet pork, which surpassed the steak. While the steak had good flavor, it was slightly tough and gristly. The Spanish rice was a standout, earning a spot among my favorites. Its delicious taste added a positive note to the dining experience. On the flip side, the atmosphere was a bit plain and dimly lit, lacking the vibrancy expected at a dining spot. However, the main reason for the 3-star rating was the automatic tip policy. A sign on the cash register mentioned a ten percent tip automatically added to cover rising costs. I believe pricing adjustments would be more transparent and preferable to mandatory tips. Tips, in my opinion, should reflect exceptional service rather than serve as a solution to cost increases. While Casa Salza has its merits, the automatic tip policy affected the overall satisfaction, leading to a less favorable rating.

10/8/21- Be careful to check your receipts they're now adding 10% gratuity without asking you so they can pay their employees and keep the doors open... They are just stealing your money and not even asking for it or doing anything to earn it. Now you upped your price and didn't bother to change the menu price... be careful when you order, the menu pricing is wrong and they will not tell you. Wow just stealing money. Great Salsa, I enjoy the Flavor! My wife loves this place. Thanks for being in the community. UPDATE: wow I can't believe you changed your menu to not include meat, and then you hide it by asking what meat do you want, then charging $2.25 more. Not cool at all. Also we came in and ordered 2 items for a total is $24, with a coupon for 50% off 1 item, and then our total was $21. Wow I'm so glad we will NEVER COME BACK, WAY TO SUCK PEOPLE DRY!!!

The food is great here and we love their salsa. We’ve never had any issue with quality of food or service. However, they add an automatic 10% gratuity without asking to all orders to accommodate to “increased cost & labor”. They mention that the charge can be removed upon request, but nobody wants to be that person. I totally understand that the cost of doing business has increased but that should reflect in the menu prices - to which they are already charging plenty IMO. The assumed gratuity feels very dishonest and deceitful.

We finally decided to try this place after we got some coupons in the mail. Glad we used one, even if it only saved us about $2 off the meal, because this place is way overpriced. Considering most Mexican food places offer the same meals for similar prices but the chips and salsa are included free- with this place, that is not the case. And they charge extra for everything, too. Sour cream, smothering, or upgrading your meat to chicken or pork, etc. (I mean chicken is pretty standard, isn’t it?!). Btw the prices on their website are all outdated (they’ve been raised). I got the sweet pork enchiladas and my food came out room temperature. It was cold by the time I wasn’t even halfway through eating it. My husband got the chimichanga and the “hot” sauce wasn’t spicy at all. The salsa is avocado- based and was good, but nothing overly special and definitely not worth the price. The service was a bit slow, but not too terrible for a Friday night. They had a good drink selection and the machine is self-use so you can get free refills. As for the restaurant itself, the lighting was really, really dim. I get atmospheric lighting but it didn’t really fit the casual feel of the place. We came around 7:30 and the ceiling lights weren’t turned on- only the accent lights. Probably would’ve been fine until sunset except it was a stormy, cloudy day, which made it extra dark in there. Despite the dim lighting, it was still easy to see that the floors were absolutely disgusting. Not only chip crumbs all over, but you could see sticky shoe marks under the tables as well. And the garbage was overflowing when we went to leave. Overall, we won’t be returning. There are much better quality options for Mexican...

I wish I would have read the reviews before we went instead of trusting the 4.2 star total. I ordered a medium burrito with chicken. The description indicates it comes with sour cream and sauce. There was zero sour cream in the burrito and it was pretty dry, so I think they also forgot the sauce. They also don't add much meat considering there's an addtl charge. I'd guess maybe 2oz. I also really disliked that they wrapped it in paper and foil, as the paper was pretty soggy by the time we got home (15 m after pickup). My husband ordered the large chimi and it honestly looked great. He said it tasted great, but it did seem like they layered it in such a way that it was an inch of meat, then two inches of rice and beans, etc. So not well combined overall. I doubt we'll ever get food from here again. Nothing special about this place and I cannot stand when the food is not made according to their own specifications (i.e. missing ingredients). It's disappointing and not worth it to drive back for them to fix their mistakes. You'll find more flavor and value by going pretty much...

we love casa salza. we live in orem and drive the 14 miles to spanish fork for their food, it’s delicious. they are generous on the amount and the salsa is to die for. tonight we were very frustrated and upset with the service we received. we walked in and ordered. as we were waiting for our food, this girl messed up two of the orders that were in front of us and gave customers the wrong orders. we saw our food done on the shelf ready to be bagged. our food sat there for 6 or 7 minutes while they sat and argued about the wrong orders being handed out, then she went and took someone else’s order that pulled up at the drive thru window instead of quickly putting the food in the bag and handing it to me (and half the food was already in the bag ready to go). so while 3 people are there arguing, and she walks away again to go take an order…our food is on the counter getting cold and soggy. I was ready to ask if I could bag my own food. poor service. and last time we got home without our salad dressings, what’s a salad without dressing? make sure you check your order before...
