I initially wasn't gong to write this but, I guess it's been bothering me and I think management, staff and customers should know that we're all just trying to do the best we can. I visited with my mil for our monthly trip up from Central Utah. Our server was upbeat and bubbly but we waited for over a half hour for our drinks which again, she apologized and said they were out of a bunch of things and she was dealing with that in the back. However, it wasn't busy or near full when we were there.
I ordered a burger with avocado. When the food was brought out, by someone other than our server, I made sure I had the avocado, it wasn't on my burger so I asked the other server if our original server had added the avocado to my order cause if not, no big deal. While I'm asking her this question, a voice from behind me pipes in and says, "It's on your salad, just take it off of there and put it on your burger"..... Uhm.... what?! š³ It was our original server at the table behind us doing I don't know what.
Everyone just kind of sat there for a second and so I did just that. Took the avocado off my salad and put it on my burger. It was awkward, and uncomfortable to be kind of squawked at like that and as a person who's been on this earth for 5 decades I've never had someone that brash in a restaurant setting. She came over as we we were ready to leave and sort of apologized but not really. She just mentioned that the other server had gone to her and said, "That was your tip." I still tipped her btw.
We're all different and this server was young and progressive with bright green hair which I loved, and noticed my opal ring which is her birthstone, I mean she was cool, but a little too IDGAF I'm gonna say what I want. And, that's awesome, you should, but we are all going to react differently and not always the way you think we should and that's okay too. Just be prepared for others to also be themselves in response.
So, what I'm trying to say is that she was wrong for blurting out what I should do and just went and got me some avocado. It would have created a much better experience for all of us. I'll never go back to this Chili's, and girl, you need to grow up a little bit and be respectful, professional, and save your little boss b** attitude for your friends. You're lucky you're not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe usually only go as far as Payson or straight thru to Provo BUT today we stayed from the beaten path and we're BLOWN away at what was just a few miles further down the road
Unknowing I placed a curbside order for the Payson Walmart only to discover chilis shared a parking lot with Walmart and Lowe's was next door
Infact, they also have an old navy, 5 below, desert book and so many more stores I thought could only be accessed by going to Provo (example, we thought we had to go to lehi for Popeyes chicken, now we know better)
The chilis was great, the roads made it easy to access the parking lot, we were seated quickly and the waitress was extra prompt even though it took me forever to figure out what I wanted to order
I usually do not give 5 stars cause almost everything can benefit from some kind of improvement but other than the plastic mugs showing very minor wear everything else was practically perfect.
Ps, last time I went to chilis was in 2005, we ordered nachos as an appetizer and felt it was overpriced for the tiny quantity we were given, then we realized our infant son needed to go to the ER for a completely unrelated to chilis issue (his daddy just forgot he rolled off a high bed and insisted I need not worry when he began to projectile--toss his cookies--somehow with the dark smoky lighting of that chili's I was able to notice his dialated pupil and finally his dad confessed to the potential head trauma that resulted from dad leaving him on the bed unattended) and due to how traumatic that night was to me I never wanted to go back but now I'm in a newer (healthier) relationship we are trying to go out more and I am very glad he talked me into going to chili cause this chilis was absolutely nothing like the one I went to in 2005, it was dark and depressing (smoky from the dark not cigarret smoke) this was bright and cheery and just made me feel happy
Sorry about the run on sentence, ps, that baby recently turned 18 and has a higher than average IQ so luckily the concussion didn't have lasting damage (and if it did power his iQ from even higher I don't think I as a parent could have kept with him as it was hard enough with him being able to outsmart me as is, I definitely would have been unable to handle my very own...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have gone to this location twice and both times have walked out just disappointed. Don't get me wrong the restaurant itself is designed really beautifully and the staff are always nice. The issue is the wait times and the food quality. There is just a weird after taste with their food and I don't remember it being like that in California or Arizona but they could have also changed a lot of stuff. It took us over 20 minutes to be seated on a Monday evening. Like not even a crazy wild busy weekend evening, like a Monday evening. There were only three little benches to sit at to wait and there were all kinds of people just hanging around at the entrance waiting for their table. Our waiter was nice enough but his energy level made us feel so rushed and uncomfortable. The only reason I came was because I had a gift card or else I would have chosen something else. My kids enjoyed their food but they don't know true good quality food yet so they'll eat anything haha. My steak was cooked medium (asked for medium rare but some restaurants never get it quite right) and it was just chewy so it was a bad cut of meat. I know this because my husband works in meat departments and knows quality cuts. The stuff they put on top of the steak was more like a garnish than actual flavor. The asparagus was delicious and crisp it was just sprinkled all over with salt and pepper, I would have preferred it plain. I just have never taken a bite of something and said mmmmmm. That's never happened at a chilis location before except (there's an exception to the rule) except when I order an alcohol drink haha. I only do this if I am not with the kids so of course I did not get one on my last visit but the only thing I like about this place are the drink options. I need to just stop spending money here when there's so many quality...
