Im here to offset some snooty people's reviews.
Scene: My beautiful, amazing, ex-theater kid gf and myself were on our way to see Wicked at the theater next door to the casino and were looking for a quick bite before settling in for the almost 3 hour movie. We looked up the grill and thought the menu looked simple enough, and the price was right for a quick, no-frills meal. However, the reviews had us second guessing ourselves all the way until the food arrived.
Let me be the first and last to tell you that this place is exactly what you're thinking it is, and maybe a little bit more. We got the sampler platter, a ruben sandwich, and a prime rib sandwich. Let's start with the sampler platter: THE WINGS!? The wings, folks... far better than they had any right to be. Good amount of crisp without being overcooked or dry. The mozzarella sticks were perfectly cheesy and tasty. The whole plate was as good or better than what we expected; we've definitely paid more for worse elsewhere. The sandwiches were unremarkable but exactly what we expected for a diner/grill style, affordable dinner. Again, I've definitely paid more money for worse sandwiches. The french fries were also solid, I should add.
Our server, Stacy, was running our little section of tables and was polite, helpful, quick, and never too far away for too long.
Now, the one and only negative aspect of the experience I did have was experiencing what seemed to be some drama between the manager with the long ponytail and a member of the wait-staff. I was on the side of the waiter immediately after seeing the RBF of this manager and hearing her cold, indifferent, not-at-all-discreet bark notifying other staff that her employee was being sent home. Her half-hidden scowl seemed to suck the warmth out of the room. I don't think she has smiled a genuine smile since Ralph Macchio made the cover of Teen Beat... or maybe she was having a bad night and is horrible at not advertising her frustration all over her face.
Overall, great experience with the people we interacted with. Food was better than it needed to be for the price and we left full and happy.
DO NOT PISS OFF...
Read moreThis was our first time at this restaurant. The food we ordered was incorrect and what we did get was horrible. We asked for a condiment & the waitress never returned. Without ever seeing our waitress again we never had a chance to get our order correct. The biscuits and gravy was horrible. The gravy tasted like flour and the French onion soup wasn't worth eating, it mostly consisted of soggy bread. After giving up hope of ever seeing our waitress again, we decided to call the meal a wash.
Trying to get our check was another issue. We couldn't find our still missing waitress and everyone we tried to flag over to our table ignored us. We finally walked over to the hostess and asked if she could find anyone who could give us our check. She said, yes but never moved. Again we were left to trying to wave an employee down. We got the attention of another employee (a manager) who told us to go ask the hostess & walked away. Before she walked away we tried to explain we already asked the hostess and got no help. Finally after seating there several more mins, we flagged down another employee who said she'd get us the check. After several more mins we got the check! As we were leaving our disappearing waitress appeared to ask how our meal was.....we explained it was not correct and what we did get was horrible and we couldn't find her, We couldn't even get a drink refill. She said it was her managers fault because she was suppose to cover for her while she was on break. Not only do your employees, pass on the blame to each other, they pass their customers back in forth to different employees with no one willing to help!
We are a family with members in the food service industry. We know it can be an underpaid and unappreciated job at times so we always make sure they are compensated with a nice tip, to show we appreciate their hard work. We even give cashiers at a fast food restaurant a tip to share with the cook and other employees. This was the first time in decades that no tip was warranted. We will NOT be...
Read moreI've lived in the Reno area for over 30+ years & I've been to many local restaurants/casino's over the years. This was my very first visit to Legends Bay Casino & LB Grill. I will never go back. For over 2 months now, I have been waiting for management in this restaurant to do the right thing & they still haven't!
My daughter used food credits she earned from gambling in the casino, to pay for the majority of the bill. I used my debit card to offset the remainder of the bill & tip which was approximately $15.00. They charged my debit card the full amount of the bill $50+. I spoke on several occasions with Stephanie who is an assistant Mgr. She tried her best to get my bank account credited back what was owed.
I then left 2 messages 1 week apart from each other with the Food & Beverage Mgr. Craig Power's advising him of their error & to call me back to let me know when this would be resolved. I never received a call back from him.
I have worked in Customer Care for over 35 years & I can tell you that I have & never would have ignored a customer nor dishonored any of the Company's I've served. Please be careful giving this restaurant your debit/credit card. This was my first & last dining experience with them. **UPDATE It's been 2 weeks since I received a response. I still have never received a phone call, nor a resolution. I'm not angry or holding a grudge. I feel it's important that the public is well informed, should they ever encounter poor customer service. This is not so much about money, as it is about integrity. This will be my last post. My hope is that Legends Bay Casino will always do the right thing in the future. May God...
