It would appear there may be a concerted effort to review bomb a perfectly quaint and nicely finished property on the east side of the Marina. Being the first new Northern Nevada casino in over 20 years can't be easy, and I understand the process was made quite difficult, or at least not helped by the involvement of some established players in stalling the project for many years. Now that Legends Bay is here and the asphalt is dry, it's a relief to this frequent Marina walker and lover of drink. It's well-designed and impressively implemented within the existing Legends format, with a convenient entry near the theater for those midnight weekend movie releases when you've got a little gas left in the tank and a penchant for anytime booze at 4600ft while discussing the lack of nuance in that latest Marvel rehash. My first restaurant experience wasn't great, but I've worked in service and know these things take time to season, even if the food was a bit too ambitiously seasoned. Update July 2023: Service and food at LB Grill has improved. It's still not quite Cafe Milano but it's solid fare. I've yet to try Duke's but it's on my radar. The craft bar boasts a nice local selection with occasional takeovers from local breweries, and the slots do a faithful and bright, high resolution representation of the oldies from IGT (you know, the ones with remarkable consistency, staying power, and the ability to assault the wallet) along with many new releases we've yet to create memes about. I still love the Village next door, but I think the fake lake and Reno/Sparks can more than accommodate this sparkly newcomer, especially considering the growth of our population waistline these last couple of bullish real estate years. The way I see it, Legends Bay Casino is an emblematic nod toward the many beneficiaries of this latest boom cycle, a nudge and a wink when you're looking for a place to drop a dollar. Remember, we enjoy zero state income tax, largely because of these wonderfully indulgent and hedonistic pleasure palaces. Even if they're not built on winners, we all still sorta win, don't we?

Life is strange, and most recently got even stranger for me when I was one of the luckier ones and found myself near the front of the line as Legends Bay Casino threw the doors open for business. I felt like I was teleported to the casino floor of one of the billion dollar properties in Vegas. It. Was. Epic. Obviously so much thought and effort and class and massive investment went into that place. Yeah, definitely a little rough getting all of the systems going. So give it a day or two... it seemed like thousands of people descended all at once on the slots and tables and cocktail waitresses and cool food trucks, and they were overwhelmed. I felt so conflicted because I had a blast inside while people were queued up in lines still outside, but that'll all settle down as this place figures out its groove. Bottom line, I can't believe a place this cool is right here. One less reason to leave the Reno area. And definitely a place to go... a lot.

CHECK YOUR TICKETS! This is the worst thing I have ever seen in a casino, I feel like it can't be legal... I argued for minutes about how my ticket I put into the cashier machine was different from what I paid. Turns out I was right and they never acknowledged that. They gave me a $0.25 voucher to cover my nearest dollar. See my pictures and you'll see the difference. So, the casino pays $1 cash less and prints a larger ticket that can only be used in their casino, rather than paying the $1 and printing a substantially smaller ticket. I told them about this and they didn't even care to look into their machine. It's good to mention that 3 employees were standing around the machine, talking, before I walked up and put my ticket in to cash out. This isn't okay.

I used to love going into the diner overnight... Now it's very un-welcoming to say the very least... In my opinion I think that Larry AKA the overnight restaurant manager is probably one of the laziest employee in the whole establishment... The reason I say this is because all I see him do while I'm there is roll his eyes, huff and puff and sit at the booth rolling up the silverware in napkins...I usually eat there and then also order food for my bf who's at work off of the late night menu but then one day I was told by Larry that I could only order one thing from that menu and that I could not order it to go I had to stay and eat my whole meal while sitting in the restaurant and I was not allowed to order a meal off of that menu to bring to my bf because I had already ordered myself the one allotted item... One night when I went in there I wanted to order the burger and also the pancakes and when I got my order all I received was the burger so I asked where the pancakes were at and was told by him that I am only allowed to order just the one item...Oh sure yeah ok well that's awesome and what's better is that Larry was the one that chose which one I wanted to eat that night...I was not informed while ordering the two items that I could only order one... He just put in half my order and let it be a surprise to me on which one I would be served...Seriously though I think he hates his job or something all I can say is that if you hate your job so much go somewhere else...On a positive note they have a lady named Priscilla that works on the casino floor, she is either out walking the floor and serving cocktails, behind the bar bartending or she’s rocking it and doing both and regardless of what her job is that night she is absolutely rocking it with the best attitude I’ve seen in quite sometime and she also has the biggest damn smile possible…My opinion is that she should be the face of what customer service should actually look like…especially since she’s the one that’s on the front line when it comes to all of the rude and inconsiderate people that most likely have their noses stuck up in the air because they think they are somehow better then the rest of us…She’s is absolutely a freaking saint for being able to stay calm, cool and collected…even after all that she deals with while working the graveyard shift!! So thank you Priscilla for being the reason that I return to this establishment and F**K You Larry for ruining almost every single one of my visits to the restaurant…Priscilla most definitely deserves a raise and Larry deserves to get fired and kicked to the curb where...

Well as if the Dining experience didn't do it for me, Kathy at Guests Services sure did!! As I waited respectfully and patiently for Kathy to finish up what she was doing, even by not walking up to the counter, as she looked busy in the middle of something. She didn't see me standing there for a few minutes and then once she did notice I was standing there, the greeting she gave was just remarkable. Kathy greeted me by throwing her hands up as if saying, What do you want? and looks around as if it was an inconvenience to help me. After the hands being thrown up I responded with, Did you really just throw your hands up? Shook my head and headed out the establishment. Kathy seemed to understand as I called her out that she certainly made an oops as she started to persistently try to explain her gesture and look and trying to get my attention to come bacdk so she can apparantly straighten up and show customer service, which at that time was too late to even try. Now I am not writing this review for management to reach out, they very much lack in that department, as I have wrote them about another unpleasant experience and have yet to respond. I am more so writing this to shed some light on this lack of customer service this place has for employees!! I would recommend going to any other casino other than this one. They will send you a mailer that states you have some free play, but once there you have nothing at all. Don't go ask Kathy what is up cause you will be apparantly inconveniencing her. Essentially I would say this place bamboozles you to get in their establishment all for you to not have what they mailed you be accurate or even have decent staff to assist you with issues. I think this has put the icing on the cake for me and think I will be staying away from this trash site. I still stick to my word when it comes to the commercial being more attractive than the place itself. Again, not holding my breathe when it comes to getting contact from management. I would say you would be treated...
