There is something to be said about the location of the restaurant which literally separates you from the town below, creating an atmosphere that you just cannot really get from any other restaurant in Spartanburg. The setting of the restaurant feels quaint, like that of a haven after a long day. The bar is equipped with friendly faces located just inside the entrance by the host stand. As we approach the hostess for our 7:00 PM reservation, we were told that our table was not ready as the previous reservation was still seated. I was a bit disgruntled by this as a reservations are spaced by 2 hour increments leaving plenty of time to be prepared for the next guest. This reservation felt much like “call ahead seating” however, we were patient with the 12 minute wait. We were seated at 7:12PM and it took a lengthy amount of time to be greeted by a server. The server was friendly and appeared to be busy with many other tables which I am sure was responsible for the delay. I enjoyed the crab meat/corn chowder (only wished for a bit more of the meat here) and the appetizer was warm and brought out promptly. I alwaysfeel the need to comment on a restaurants sweet tea which was more than was adequately southern in taste. I had the steak medallions which were nothing short of phenomenal. I requested medium-well and they were prepared sufficiently with slightly charred edges (a personal taste of mine) while tender and moist at the rich center. The steak was tender enough that I was not bothered by the fact that I was not provided a steak knife, although I did ask for one later to have for convenience. The potatatos were rich and flavorful which combined with the steak medallions created a rich blend of taste that left me satisfied and curious to return to try other items from this menu. The menu is not too large or too small and feels adequately sized to allow the team to focus on providing top-notch flavors and combinations. For desert we enjoyed the pumpkin cheesecake and while I was hesitant, this small treat proved to be a flavorful delight leaving me contempt while craving more of it. The pumpkin cheesecake with the resberry accompaniment was a sweet and welcomed combination, which elevated this desert item even more. Overall, the biggest frustration was the delayed reservation however, the experience created by the team once we received our menu items proved to be well...
Read moreI reserved a table for my family and had requested a table by a window. But when we arrived we were taken to a table in the middle of a major foot traffic area for servers and customers! This was unacceptable and I complained. The manager took us to another room where we had more privacy, however the table was not set. The manager quickly set the table and put the forks and knives incorrectly and missing a fork and knives and we had to put away the many glasses left on the table. I found some knives in a glass as the server that come could not be bothered to bring us clean cutlery. This was supposed to be an upscale dining, but lacked the tablecloths and the professionalism of the servers. The server knew nothing about wines and couldn't make any recommendations when asked. The wine selection was very disappointing focusing mainly on American wines. The serves was asked a few times to provide us with a desert card, but only did so when the other guests desert were brought out before one of my guest was given the card finally to order their desert. The table was still dirty and the server laid down an oil type dipping sauce with the bread and spilled a good bid onto the table. The servers had no proper training as they served from the left and across faces! The manager even came and lit the candles, but did not excuse himself as he reached for the cancel across one of my guests faces while he ate! As for the drinks, I had to wait for the server to show up and asked her many times for refills as she never paid attention to our table! When the bill came, I was forced to pay a 20% tip for this unprofessional service and as tips are in general voluntary payments, and it was not disclosed that it was mandatory, so it was forced on to you. The next day I called to speak to the manager and tried to explain that the service was mediocre and unprofessional and that they charged me this horrendous tip, he interrupted me and was rude and did not listen to me and consistently talked and told me that I was wrong! I will never visit this place where I was forced to pay nearly $70 in tip for being handled the same way as in most low cost restaurants in Spartanburg! Save your money as this place is not it worth it. The food was ok, but nothing to brag about! This was just a bad...
Read moreWe had a wonderful time last night on our first visit to Level10! It was out of this world fantastic from the moment we walked in until the moment we said our goodbyes to our server. My husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary yesterday and we both feel we picked the perfect place to do so.
We had 7pm reservations and were seated immediately upon being greeted by the hostesses. The lowlight and the candle on our table paired with high back booths created the perfect ambiance for an intimate dinner. As amazing as the restaurant itself and all of our food was, our server was definitely the highlight of the night! We had Tam and she gave us an incredible experience. I don’t think we would have enjoyed ourselves as much as we did if we had had any other server.
Tam is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the menu which I really appreciated as I have some dietary restrictions. She was able to make suggestions, most of which we went with and were happy that we did. She really sold us on the fried green tomatoes when she told us about the cheese blend in the pimiento cheese! We also really appreciated her attention to detail. We were offered champagne or dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We ended up trying both the crème brûlée and the key lime pie. Tam mentioned our anniversary to the dessert chef who put details on each dish that really made our night special.
For our entrées my husband got the salmon with root vegetable hash and asparagus. He was VERY pleased. I ordered several sides but the brussel sprouts were by far my favorite. Not every restaurant has brussel sprouts and those that do aren’t always good but Level10 does them right. We will be back soon just for the brussel sprouts!
Thank you Level10 for a great anniversary dinner and thank you Tam for a great experience. We appreciate the time you took at our table helping us order, the GREAT conversation and even you insisiting on taking photos for us before we left! We will certainly be back and we hope Tam will...
