A delightfully unassuming hole in the wall shop. Passed by many times and finally went in for the first time today after having a craving for a good French cruller and seeing they whip them up here on select days. I went in around 10:00am, and while they were already sold out of many of their “crazier” creations for the day, there was still a wonderful selection to delight any donut desire. I asked for a dozen of his recommended donuts as long as it had some French crullers. The customer service was amazing, and he talked me through what he was thinking and recommending while asking me my likes and preferences along the way when it came to different flavors of what he suggested. After crafting my dozen of his more unique creations, he ended up adding extra donuts at the end to include some tastings of the more classic flavors as well, having me walk out with more than a dozen donuts but charged me the standard price for a dozen.
This experience brought me right back to my childhood, reminding me of my local hole in the wall donut shop that was the best kept secret in my town growing up. After getting home, my daughter was delighted by the colors and craft of many of the donuts and she loved getting to pick out of the selection he had recommended. A general pet peeve of most donut places I have been to around here is having donuts with flavored icings that just taste like sugar with the essence of a fruit. His icings were bursting with fruit flavors, and the huckleberry icings were a house favorite here; we were fighting over who wanted the last huckleberry flavor he sent me home with and ended up cutting it up so we could all enjoy it. The crullers were light, fluffy, crunchy, and chewy all at the same time, just as they should be.
I could tell the gentleman that helped me was tired and had a long morning, but it didn’t stop him from putting his effort into finding me a great box to send home. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does, and that he cares about the product he produces and the experience he gives you.
While it’s tempting to order donuts from the places in Spokane that are supported through Uber eats or any of the other delivery services so you can have lazy mornings with donuts delivered to the door, the customer service, selection, and quality of donuts here is worth the drive. My only regret is not getting up earlier to get there sooner to have an even bigger selection to try because I can only imagine how good his sold out selection by the time I had arrived would have been. I definitely be back...
Read moreI’ve been going to this donut shoot since the original owners operated it. It’s in my neighborhood so Its close to home.
I had a weird interaction the last time I went and it’s kind of put a sour taste in my mouth about the shop though. About a year ago I was in & talking to the owner about Persian donuts and he offered to put buttercream & sprinkles on top of my cinnamon roll. It was amazing & I was so happy I wasn’t going to have to go to Rosauers for them anymore. The 2nd to last time I ordered one I got the feeling that the owner was having a bad day? Or tired? Something? Well the last time I went in & ordered one (I was the only customer in there.) I got chewed out a little bit. I was told something to the effect of “I tell you guys to text special orders like this in, especially when there’s a line” again- only person in the lobby was me. I’m sorry I don’t see your Facebook posts for whatever algorithm reason. Would you say the same to an elderly person if they walked in & asked for one? I just woke up on the fly and wanted to go get some donuts. This happened a couple weeks ago but it really has given me the feeling that I don’t...
Read moreWe tried Fluffy's Donuts To Go for the first time yesterday. They have officially become my favorite! They are a must try, for sure.
Their donuts are good size, we were easily able to share each donut with how big they are. You can also choose rings that are a little smaller and more dense. Even though a good amount was gone by the time we got there, which was still fairly early, they had a good amount of variety left. They have great flavor and are not overly sweet. Plus, they have a great selection of options for not only flavors, but the kind of donuts as well. They also rotate so you don't see the same ones every time.
We tried the classic maple bar, apple fritter, lemon blueberry fritter, maple ring with bacon, chocolate with Bavarian cream, cinnamon crumble with apple pie filling, peaches and cream & huckleberry rings, sugar twist and buttermilk bars in orange, cherry & huckleberry. Mine and my husband's favorite was the cinnamon crumble with apple pie filling. 😋
Taylor, the owner, was also very patient and answered all our questions without annoyance. Lol Super...
