Stone Mill Bread & Cafe - Springdale — Restaurant in Springdale

We arrived a few minutes past 3 - the restaurant closes at 4. We could not have coffee because the coffee station had already been closed. We got a blueberry muffin that had one blueberry in it. One! We didn't dare order from the kitchen. We were allowed tea (they use teabags, so it hadn't been pre-closed). I asked for water - I actually asked for a cup so that I could get some water. Twice. I didn't get water or a cup. As we were sitting in the booth talking, I noticed how dirty the partition between the booths was. Because the overall impression was neat, clean and tidy I was surprised by how dirty it was.

My real complaint is with owners of businesses like this. Employees are paid very little and encouraged to have everything done to be off the clock quickly. In positions where tips are the bulk of pay there isn't much motivation to be there beyond the time when tips end. As a result, this restaurant was effectively closed an hour...

First off they did not tell us that the sandwiches come on specific bread and when we went to ask they had finished out food I let the manager who delivered our food know that I had just gone up and asked about it and that the bread was wrong she said she would go check and nene came back in fact she went out of her way to avoid us. Then when we finally flashed her down again she said that it is I'm fine print on there menu (the ones on the counter not the board you order from) and we said the waitress never told us that's what it came on she said she would remake them it would take 15-20 min but we would basically be sent to the back of the line she was not very good at her job the food was sub par soup had no flavor to be honest subway is better and at least you know exactly what you have to do when you go in. We will never be back and will encourage others to...

I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but I'm honestly confused why this place has a high review rating. I went with a group of friends, 8 people total. All of us ordered different salads, sandwiches and/or soups, but only 2 of the 8 people actually enjoyed their lunches. I do want to say that their bread was very good. However, the soups tasted like they were from a can, especially the tomato and creamy potato. My sandwich and 2 others sandwiches had little to no meat, and the oatmeal cookie provided with the meal was absolutely horrible. When we asked about the meat portions of our sandwiches it was brushed off by the employee. The 2 people who ordered salads said they were great, so I want to add that here as well.
