Casa Centro Modern Mexican — Restaurant in Springfield

The establishment is beyond beautiful. My friend and I came during lunch. We got a burrito and a chicken and rice bowl.

I understand this establishment is attempting a fine dining experience, however, my partner and I did not enjoy our experience.

The salsa you get when you sit down is incredibly flavorless. At the very least, salt could have saved it, but there was no salt or pepper on any of our tables.

My burrito had whole baby carrots in it along with half cooked green beans. I was excited to get shrimp and vegetables in my burrito, but it was all vegetable and no shrimp. The chipotle sauce on top also tasted bland and watered down. The chicken and rice bowl left my partner still hungry. I had to use my personal hot sauce because the hot sauce that was provided was also bland and had ok flavor.

I would not have made the effort for this review, however, it was slow so I don’t think time limited the chefs ability to add some flavor.

All around a fantastic experience! As a vegetarian family it was a delight to not only find multiple options but the preparation was delicious. The veggie burrito was covered with a tangy tomatillo sauce and slices of avocados which was fresh and tasty. We were also told they can adjust many of their offerings to be vegetarian and are looking at new dishes to add.

The Interior is so well done and thoughtful. We asked about the mural on the ceiling as we loved the design and colors and felt it had a personal or cultural meaning behind it. Our waiter seemed genuinely excited when we inquired and said he would have the owner tell us about it. I wish I had asked her name but she was an absolute delight and told us the story behind the mural. (Please ask her bc it’s too beautiful and detailed for me to write here)

There was music but it wasn’t too loud to have a nice conversation.

Oh and I really liked their dinner plates - nice touch.

We dined here on a Sunday evening with a party of six, and the experience was fantastic from the start. The first two in our group arrived early and had drinks at the bar, which is not only beautiful but sets a luxurious tone for the whole restaurant. From the detailed ceiling to the thoughtfully styled restrooms, the space feels refined and carefully designed, offering an upscale yet welcoming atmosphere.
