Torte & Iron Cafe — Restaurant in Springfield

Update stopped in today got new cannolis. The chocolate chips I believe are what is making the taste and smell off but the non dipped was very good! Got a bunch of other things to try. Much more happy with this visits outcome!

husband surprised me with a couple of things there for my birthday today. The cream filled croissant was ok. Croissant part was a bit over baked but ok. He also got me some Cannolis he was impressed that you filled them on the spot. The cream was not sweet like not even a little. It was hard to judge the filling because the shell was stale and tasted old and oily. Maybe it was an off day but was expecting something better. Specially since I have seen rave reviews on here. I hope you fix the cannolis before anyone else gets them I still have the bad taste...

I ordered a coconut cream and lemon filled torte for a reveal party which is supposed to be light and fully instead I got a heavy hot mess. I was so embarrassed to feed it to my guessed. The cake was wet they soaked it coconut liquor which was over powering. If you are not familiar with something tell people that. I would rather pay for something good that you can actually make. I paid $48 for a cake that the grocery store could’ve made better. No decorations on the cake which they assured me would be on it. I can’t believe you found it ok to sell me that cake. That cake was epically offensive. For crying out loud you have torte in your name so I expected a masterpiece. Maybe you should call up Michael Angelo’s bakery in Cleveland for some lessons. This place was one of my favorites for a few years, and it's unfortunate to see its recent decline. The freshness of the pastries became inconsistent, and the collection rotation has shifted from weekly to monthly, which makes it less appealing to visit frequently, as there's not enough incentive to return to try something different. Additionally, the variety of options available is less everytime I am there. Hours were reduced.

I also miss the personable and welcoming service that used to be a hallmark of this place; the interactions now are strictly transactional. I believe there is an opportunity for improvement in both the product offerings and customer experience, and I would love to see this establishment thrive again and...
