Dewey's Jazz Lounge — Restaurant in Springfield

I came to the establishment with three other associates to relax and enjoy some food. We got there we were seated and were excited to try some more new. The waitress in the beginning was very attentive asked for a drink order was beyond sweet and insured we received our drink. We continue to ask for straws as waters and drinks started arriving We ordered an appetizer and had good conversation. When it was time to order food she took two orders and left leaving two other people without having put orders in. At no time did she ask if anybody else wanted anything she just walked away. Thinking it was an oversight We called her back over placed one additional order where she put that in without waiting for the final person to put their order in. Upon finishing our meal we were ready for another drink We did not see our waitress for roughly 45 minutes and at that point we wanted to check to leave. We called over the gentleman working the door twice because the first time our waitress only brought one person's bill at that point in time she stated that she was going to split our bill between the rest of us and bring that over which again took 45 minutes when she came back she had one bill which at that point we handed a card and decided to figure it out ourselves. This was beyond frustrating and one of the worst experiences I've ever had downtown. The ladies and I were beyond frustrated that we were attempting to leave around 9: 15 and didn't get out of the restaurant until 10:30. To say we were ready to walk out and come back the next day to pay our tab is an understatement. There's no reasonable excuse for a bill over $400 that we were not taken care of. The food was excellent The atmosphere was very nice it seems like a great place. Unfortunately we did not experience that We experienced the frustration of feeling like we were in an escape room trying to get out. The waitress was lovely but may have been training or stretched too thin. In all it was an extremely uncomfortable experience. Upon leaving we asked for the manager twice and while waiting. Hopefully after this review someone will reach out from the team to help rectify the situation. That response is unfortunately not correct I've never had a conversation with anyone. I went here two nights ago, had Deja for my server. I have never been here before! Loved the food, the pictures don’t do this place justice. It’s so much better in person. Like they said never judge a book by its cover! The food is definitely delicious, and worth the price, proportions are a little on the small side however, they’re very very tasty and the quality over the quantity sells its self well. Deja my server, she was attentive and smiley. Very outgoing, personable, and admirable. The experience for staff overall was warm, welcoming, and a nice little place away from reality. I enjoyed my experience and think I’ll make this my monthly spot, to come out enjoy myself and or study! I truly loved this place and enjoyed my time. Deja was outstanding, and so kind. She stayed up on checking in every 10-15 minutes, occasionally every 5 when it came to if we needed more refreshments. I can say by far this was one of my favorite interactions and overall experiences at any restaurant. The clientele is chefs kiss 🤌🏻 The food was cooked to perfection. Totally forgot to put my review up the night of! I loved this place it’s elegant. Reserved, and the vibe really brings out such a great atmosphere. Halfway through out my meal, the manager made sure to come up and ask how things were which added an extra touch of perfection. I loved this place, I never leave reviews either. What an absolutely phenomenal evening. End to end, this was hands down one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in all my travels

Our server Jazz was so attentive, even making eye contact and checking in across the room. She was always there at exactly the right time to offer another drink or see if we needed anything, without being overbearing. Perfectly balanced.

The headliner: THE FOOD. Oh wow. We got the calamari and a Caesar salad to start. It was obvious the calamari was fresh not frozen, the batter and fry were perfect, and the sauce was absolutely on point. The Caesar, was quite simply, the best I have ever had. It was fresh and flavourful in ways I did not know were possible. It absolutely POPPED. For our main dish, my wife got the shrimp and grits and I got the burger. Both were cooked perfectly and absolutely stellar.

The Drinks were also amazing! Don't stick to your usual. Get out of your comfort zone and get one of their craft cocktails. You won't be disappointed.

Never even got around to discussing the music!

In summary, Dewey's is the whole package and frankly one of the best dining experiences Springfield has to offer. The food, drinks, entertainment, and service are simply on another level. Cannot strongly recommend this place enough. My only regret is not coming...
