Walked in and the door greeter was very kind and friendly. We had three people and only a 5 minute wait so that was great. After being seated, things went the other way.
Multiple appetizers were ordered and all tasted bland. The breadsticks tasted like toast, the garlic bread tasted bland, and the meatballs had an odd texture to them. Also, we were looked at as if it was an inconvenience that we asked for plates so we could all try the different appetizers ordered. Not sure if the waiter was just pressed, but he did not bring out the food, so I’m not sure what he was doing between orders.
Our waiter suggested the shrimp scampi pizza. After a 40 minute wait, our waiter came back by and informed my table our food was the next ticket. Less than five minutes later he brought the food out. I understand that some pizza places take time when making quality product. I am all for waiting if the food is going to be great, but it was not.
The pizza tasted as if it had been sitting. Took one bite and said no thank you. The thin crust bread was soggy. A calzone was also ordered and the bread was soggy as if it was sitting there. The calzone was also warm at best. A bbq chicken sandwich was order by another person in our party and the chicken was cold. I tasted some of the chicken and it was again bland. I’m not sure if it was meant to be served like that, but food was overall disappointing to say the least.
Overall, I’m not sure if the waiter forgot or the food or was too busy, but the service was mediocre either way from beginning to end. Our waiter kept seemingly disappearing. Unfortunately with food taking so long to be delivered, waiters should understand that drink refills will be happening more quickly.
A suggestion that if the wait time is going to be that long, maybe have menus that customers can look at while waiting for a table. Also, I would allow people to order while waiting for their table so they won’t have a 30+ minute wait on...

I had been at Wild Wings and left after 10 boneless chicken wings was at a 45 min wait while I sat at the bar and the inside was not busy but, supposedly “to go orders” were plenty. I cancelled my order and left. The service was good but really… 45 minutes! Then I decided to go to Pappo’s on the other end of the plaza on Battlefield Rd, Springfield Mo. I ordered an 8” pizza and my favorite salad to go. The 8” pizza is perfect for one person… the salad I ordered has a Spring Mix, Feta cheese, walnuts and cranberries… it’s my favorite there. When I got home… the pizza was overcooked and I’m clueless on what salad was made for me but, not the one I ordered! I spent $24 plus tip and was disappointed when I got home. So, I ate a bit of the salad and pizza because I was hungry and took the leftover salad back today, Monday 10th, 2025 and asked for the manager but, told my story to the young man who was seating customers, who went to tell the manager. Not only was my whole order replaced but so was my money. I had paid cash… the manager brought out my food and my cash back plus, apologized . The remade meal was perfect in my opinion! Pappo’s made a bad food experience and turned it around! That deserves a review. I ate my new pizza for lunch and did a half salad portion for supper. It was so good! Read moreLet me start with my family and I have ate at Pappo’s many many times, but never thought this would happen. We went to dinner tonight and upon receiving our meal my sister in laws pizza had a long brown hair in it- discovered after almost swallowing it. Ok, they start to remake the pizza. Then my mother in law, already grossed out but still wanting to eat, takes a bite of her food, immediately regurgitates it out due to yet another long brown hair in her food- in an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT DISH. So that is 2/4 meals with hair found yet keep in mind 2 people did not begin their meals, so who’s to say there was not hair in those 2 as well. There were no hair nets worn In the kitchen so I suppose we should have expected something disgusting to happen…there needs to be an entire health inspection done on this place. For 2 separate dishes to have a long nasty hair in them is INSANE. The manager did handle the situation well as we did not pay for the food we did not eat.
