Zenia Bar and Grill — Restaurant in St. Louis

Had probably my worst ever dining experience here. I have celiac, which is a very difficult to accommodate food allergy. My coworkers and I had just returned from the conference center beside the hotel and were tired/looking for a quick place to eat. After confirming that this restaurant, which is in the lobby of the Marriott would be unable to accommodate my diet, I decided I would simply go get food somewhere that can accommodate me and just bring it back and eat with them in the hotel lobby. No problem, happens all the time. Unfortunately, shortly after joining my coworkers at their table near the lobby bar, I was told by the fairly rude waitress that I wasn’t allowed to bring in outside food. I then informed the waitress of my food allergy, to which she said it doesn’t matter they don’t allow outside food. I asked that she contact the manager to see if a solution could be found. The manager told me that it is against the city health code to bring in outside food. At this point I was asked to either dispose of the food or leave. I have NEVER been treated like this in a restaurant before. It’s fairly difficult in a review to convey how rude they were during this discussion. It was bad enough that my coworkers all apologized to me that I had to go through that. Fun fact I looked through the health code and it’s not unless I try to sell the food I brought in. It’s at the discretion of management, and it’s not like they didn’t have any options. The lobby there is fairly large. They could have offered a place to sit outside the “restaurant” bounds. There were other solutions besides “get out”. Traveling with celiac is very very challenging and I thought I could expect better from a company operated by a hospitality company...

Made reservations via open table. Upon arrival they said they dont honor the reservations and find a place to sit. We found a table. Ordered drinks while we looked at the menu. It took 20 mins to get our drinks and another 10 before we were able to place an order. In total we ordered 4 cocktails, 3 burgers and fries, and a side salad. The food took over 40 mins to come out. They forgot the salad and did not bring silverware. After 15 mins the salad and silverware came. Food and cocktails were ok but definitely not worth the price. Bill was $145.00. Do yourself a favor and skip this place go to ANY of the restaurants nearby.Will never go...

I would never come back to this "restaurant" again. On a Friday night when there are multiple large events going on in the city, they 're ridiculously understaffed. We had to seat ourselves, and waited for someone to come clean the table, while standing next to the table for 15 minutes. Once the table was cleaned, it another 45 minutes before someone finally took our order. The bartender was rude, the server was so busy talking to all the other women in the place to serve others and the management didn't care that everyone in the establishment were complaining about service as well. This was the worst part...
