Charleys Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in St. Matthews

I really enjoy the food that comes from Charley's Cheesesteaks...most of the time. The more you go you'll realize your experience and quality of food is different everytime. Some days you can go and get a REALLY good Philly cheesesteak and some days you get a poorly put together sandwich that hardly tastes like what it's supposed to be.

One person I really enjoy seeing there is Tony. Tony is very kind and funny. I'm a regular and he has remembered my order.

One person I do not enjoy seeing there is the older woman with glasses. My experience today from her was laughably bad. The person in front of me didn't get to put in her order until the employee was done with her phone call she was taking in the middle of the kitchen. Then, she forgets to give the lady her drink until the lady had to remind her.

Then it was me and my coworkers turn. As she was still talking on the phone she was getting ranch for wings that my coworker ordered. Thankfully my co worker checked her bag because the lady did not put a lid on the ranch she had just put in the bag! The poor cooks had to re-cook the whole meal because of her mistake.

Who would've thought that being on the phone and working with customers...

Ordered a chicken philly steak - there was hardly any meat at all only two little minced chicken squares, less than 2 oz. of meet for sure, took forever to get my order, barely any lettuce and tomato. Over all a very disappointing sandwich. My husband got the bigger steak philly sandwich, supposedly with more meat, but about the same deal. He said it was false advertising to call it a philly steak. French fries were greasy too - all in all, took too long, cost too much and hardly any food at all. Will not go back. They only had one poor guy trying to do all the orders, he was working fast, but still a long line, waited more than 15 minutes for my order, not fast food at all, owner only watched while everyone stood in line. Tried it once, but won't go back - left hungry but didn't have time to stop any place else, was on my lunch hour. Guess I should have checked out the reviews before I wasted time and money. ...

I have enjoyed this restaurant over the years at different malls. The food at this location was really tasty. I tried two of their sandwiches, and both had great flavors. This brings me to the service part of the experience. The first sandwich I ordered was a buffalo chicken sandwich. It tasted fantastic. However, my stomach was not in the mood for the level of spice in that food. So I took it back, having only eaten a bite of it, and told them my issue with the sandwich. They kindly took it back and allowed me to choose a different sandwich at no extra charge. As far as atmosphere goes, it's a mall food court... so... yeah... I mean, as far food courts goes it was pretty clean and well lit. Overall, it was a good experience with good food and great...
