A great Japanese restaurant in State College! #fyp #foodie #foodreview #psu #pennstate #statecollege #restaurant #restaurantreview #mukbang

Tadashi is the real deal—bold flavors, beautifully plated dishes, and a lively, high-energy atmosphere. We went primetime Saturday night around 8PM and had to wait about 30 minutes. The place was packed, wall-to-wall, with a serious buzz in the air. Service was slightly slow but still efficient and friendly. If you’re looking for calm and quiet, this isn’t it. But if you want fire food and a vibe, this place hits. Flaming Beef Roll An absolute showpiece. Served still flaming, the thin slices of beef are seared on the outside and wrapped around a warm, creamy roll with avocado and tempura crunch. Spicy Tuna & Salmon Roll with Tobiko This one’s a stunner. Inside, spicy tuna and salmon bring the heat; outside, it’s topped with four kinds of tobiko that add color, texture, and just the right pop. Fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced—equal parts kick and finesse. Cucumber with Sesame Sauce Surprisingly addictive. Crisp spiral-cut cucumber in a sesame-soy blend with a hit of spice, sesame seeds, and seasoning. Cool, refreshing, and full of umami—makes a great palate cleanser or light bite between heavier dishes. Spring Rolls Crispy on the outside, hot and savory inside. The wrapper is fried just right—never greasy—and the sweet chili dipping sauce adds a sweet and tangy contrast that works every time. Classic and done well. Salted Edamame Classic, fresh, and exactly what you want. Lightly salted, steamed to keep that clean snap, and served warm. Perfect for nibbling while you wait or to reset your taste buds between dishes. Fried Calamari Hot, crispy, and packed with flavor. The batter’s seasoned just enough to bring out the peppery notes, and the squid inside is tender—not rubbery. One of the best versions of this dish I’ve had in a long time. Tadashi is fire across the board. If you’re going on a weekend night, expect a wait and bring your outside voice. But for great sushi, solid portions, and standout flavors, it’s absolutely worth it. We’ll be back—next time, maybe on a quieter night.

On paper and from photos this restaurant looks good but once you step inside you will see all the things that make it mediocre at best. We arrived at 11:03 and the restaurant was still closed. The waitress lackadaisically walked over to unlock the door two minutes later even though they can see there were people standing outside. Their service is just flat out poor for a so called "Japanese" restaurant. We sat for ten minutes and the table behind us were both trying to flag down a waitress to place our orders. Their wait staff likes to move around and pretend they are busy but never look at the customers. Don't bother coming here if you expect decent service. Now onto the cleanliness of the restaurant. They had just opened but their bathrooms are absolutely filthy. I don't think they've cleaned them since the day before. There were small sauce specs in the soy sauce dipping trays and the cups they leave out for water were sticky. The miso soup bowls were also not clean. Once you look closely you can see all the areas that they cut corners on and are lazy in maintaining standards. The food is actually not bad but fairly overpriced for the portion size and where they are located. I guess when there is no competition in the area it is fine to slip into mediocrity and rest on their past laurels. THIS PLACE IS DIRTY.

Why is this restaurant forcing me to hurry up and finish my food in a very short amount of time when I am paying my own money to eat here? I had one of the worst costumer service I ever had here. I visited this place often but from some point a server would come and make me pay even before I am done with my food. I was in the middle of eating my food and this rude server comes and gives me a receipt and make me pay with machine she brought. At that time, they were not even in busy situation. In fact, a lot of seats were empty. I had to stop eating my food and take out my wallet and insert the card into machine she brought. First time, I just let it happen. But another time, I wasn’t even half way done eating my ramen noodle and this server would come to me with machine and wants me to pay. So I had to stop eating and take out card and insert it into machine she brought. Also, they are forcing me to pay them a good tip with the paying machine they bring. When a costumer is eating, they shouldn’t interrupt with such a rude and disrespectful attitude. As this happened many times, I brought it up to them and asked them why they are making me pay even before I finish. But this server who seems to be older than other servers didn’t answer my question and instead asked me “Do you want to add anything?” And I told her “no” then she just says “then, it doesn’t matter” and just walks away and completely shouts me out unwilling to listen to my concern. I almost couldn’t digest food I ate because of how badly she treated me. This is a very unethical and horrible restaurant who ignores their customers. Do not go to this place, their sushi is anyways a lot more expensive than if you were to get them at other stores or...
